THE MOUSE
In 1967, engineer Douglas Engelbart devised a pointing device that the computer
user could move by hand and move the corresponding movement to the screen.
Firstly, the concept of Douglas was materialized by Xerox engineers in a soap-

shaped device that was named a mouse, This is made of plastic, and is used with
one of the hands.
In addition, The mouse can be connected wired or wirelessly to a computer. The
mouse Detects its movement by the flat surface on which it rests and reflects it
through a pointer, cursor or arrow on the monitor. On the other hand, there are
other technologies with a similar function. For example, the touch screen, which is
more modern and is used by some people today.

However, in the future it may be possible to move the cursor or pointer with your
eyes or rely on voice recognition. As a result, for most people, the mouse is
essential in a desktop computer despite the emergence of other technologies with a

similar function.
