On knowledge

The regression indicates that age, level of education, and numbers of years as
cardholder are essential determinants of knowledge of health coverage. Those who kept long-
term UHCS cards had higher knowledge of health coverage than those who obtained their
membership cards recently. In order to increase knowledge, greater access to news and
information is therefore required for those of a younger age and those with less education.
(Naranong, Anchana. 2018)

There are a number of independent variables which affect and impact the
understanding of the scheme. Education is one determinant; those who have higher education
levels tend to have a higher level of understanding of health care schemes. (Jaisoongnern,
2008; Bunkum, 2014). In addition those who have higher average incomes appear to have a
more reliable and more detailed understanding. Understanding is higher in males than females,
and those 30-39 years old appear to have a more precise understanding of the scheme
Unemployed members of society and housewives / husbands appear to have misleading and
factually wrong understanding of health care (Jaisungnern, 2008) But on one research, as a
whole shows that occupation is a variable that has little impact on the knowledge of the
system. (Tumvijit, 2002).

Higher secondary education has been more likely to understand the value of health
insurance knowledge than any of those with less or no education Also it was evident from the
same research that those making 150,001-200,000 rupees were much more likely to think this
than those making 50,000 rupees in the region. (Kansra & Gill, 2016a).

Higher levels of learning lead in a more accurate understanding and knowledge of the
UHC system. People with such a higher level of education have been able to access more
accurate and reliable news and information related to health care. This reinforced the findings
of Bakeera et al. (2009), who observed that the rise in the number of people who are educated
at the primary level would have a direct impact on the potential for improved knowledge and
understanding in the area of health care.

The number of years as card holder often improves knowledge reliability, and it can be
concluded that this results in increased use of the card to receive the treatment. There is a
strong need for greater exposure to news and information for youth and middle-aged people
when knowledge is to be improved. The same applies to individuals who have been taught just
at the primary level or below. This kind of awareness-raising would benefit the public,
encouraging them to brace and prepare for possibilities involving the use of a universal
healthcare system. Apparently, segments of the population are reluctant to use healthcare
services for financial reasons. It is for this same reason that greater access to news and
information about advantages and entitlements can contribute to more effective policies and a
more effective overall healthcare system. (Naranong, Anchana. 2018)
