Comparative adjectives
se usan cuando se hace una comparación entre dos cosas
Example: The men are taller than the women.
En este ejemplo, estamos comparando dos sustantivos (the men and the
women). El adjetivo en esta oración es “tall” pero debido a que estamos
comparando dos sustantivos, entonces necesitamos usar el adjetivo
comparativo “taller”.
Rules Comparative Adjective Example
I am taller than you.
1 sílaba (palabras cortas) adjective +er You are faster than me

She is more beautiful than


2+ sílabas (palabras more + adjective her mother.

Palabras que terminan en -Y and +ier Peter.

Después de formas comparativas, usamos la palabra THAN. Las formas


comparativas son -er or more. Usamos el -er que termina con adjetivos
de una sílaba como: short, tall, cheap.
Cuando los adjetivos son más largos, usamos more como: beautiful,
expensive, interesting.
Examples:

She is more inquisitive than her sister.


That neighbourhood is more dangerous than my neighbourhood.
