Purpose of the report

Introduction
The company McDonald has its origin in the American and is considered as the fast food
company. This company was founded in the year 1940 as a restaurant. The menu that they serve
for the customers includes hamburgers, french-fries and cheese burgers. In the additional part of
their menu they serve chicken products and the items of breakfast as well. It has been found that
the company Mc Donald carries out their business operations of the NEWZEALAND in the
Green lane, Auckland.

The company Dominos originally belong from the America and it is considered as the restaurant
which serves pizza to their customer in the multinational level. This company was found in the
year 1960 by tom Monahan and his brother. The first franchise location of the dominos was
opened in the year 1967. The menu of the dominos varies according to the region.

The company Hawkins is considered as the company which deals with the business of
construction and engineering. Now the company Hawkins found to be doing their trading as the
part of the MC Connell dowel corporation. This company provides benefits to the customer as a
result they have continued to invest in the technology, investments and continuous improvements
for the purpose of sustaining a strong concentration of the safety and health programs.
Environmental factors
The environmental factors of the company consist of the micro and macro environment. The
micro environment of the company is referred to the internal environment and the macro
environment of the company is referred to as the external environment of the company. The
micro environment of the company consists of small number of sources which affect the abilities
for serving their customers. The macro environment of the company consists of the large amount
of forces which affects the micro environment of the company as well.

Two environmental factors affecting Mc Donald

Laws: The New Zealand Government has established strict laws to for the protection of the
environment. The regulations and acts are “Waste Minimization Act 2008”, “Resource
Management Act 1991” and “Local Government Act 2002”. Therefore, Mc Donald has to adhere
to the laws for the purpose of maintaining their business. These laws will help the company to
develop a sustainable form of business and provide the necessary guidelines to control the
harmful influence that a company can provide to the environment. This enables Mc Donald to
use the options of safe disposal.

Resources: The resources of the company include the human resources, the physical resources
and the financial resources. The human resources or the workforce will provide the generation of
such products that will bring customer satisfaction, The physical resources are the material that
will be used by the company for the purpose of production, specially the raw chicken, the other
necessary food items and the spices that a food producing company needs in general. The
financial resources will be the cost incurred by the company for the purpose of production. These
resources can be gathered by various ways, it can be a direct investment from the company, or a
fund or loan from some governmental bodies or nonprofit organizations as well. It depends on
how the company is portrayed to the investors or the fund providing bodies.

Two environmental factors of Dominos:


Technological factors: This will be determined by the advancement of technology that has been
implemented and incorporated by Dominos supporting the issue of formation of renewable
sources of energy. However, the technology implemented should be such thjat it lowers the cost
of operation of the company. New Zealand’s sector of technology as per the NZTech has been
extracting 8% of the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP)and amounts to 8%. This has
influenced Dominos to take up the equipment of the latest advanced technology for flawless
production and delivery of the food items. It has also enabled the fastest delivery to the
customers by implementing an innovation through which if the customer presses the icon of
application for a longer time the same order will again be processed. The company has
implemented the use of AI recently[ CITATION Riy19 \l 1033 ].

Customers: The customers are becoming way more conscious about what they are actually
consuming. Moreover, the consumption rate of fast food in NZ is already higher if compared
with the number of the demography. Therefore, there will always be a pressure on the company
to deliver the fastest fast food of the best quality. Thus customers and their demands do have a
major impact on the production of Dominos.

Two environmental factors of Hawkins:

Technological factors: Hawkins is a construction company dealing with engineering. Therefore,


it is always necessary for the company to cope up with the latest technological advancements.
Moreover, technology remains at a heart of such of company where building equipment is a daily
need for each and every activity that the company undertakes. The operational costs of the
company can also be lowered down by the use of the advanced technology. This will enable the
company to take up the latest available equipment for the purpose of construction and hence will
allow the increase in productivity and flawless construction of each of the onsite projects.

Competitors: New Zealand has a stable infrastructural sector and the market is more matured
with the existence of the number of construction companies some of which are Fletcher, Brosnan
Construction, Leighs Construction and so on. Thus the competitors form a major factor that
influences the business of the company. Thus there always remains a pressure to keep a grip on
the market in New Zealand and especially in Auckland.
Challenges
There are several challenges of the company Mc Donald which the company is facing over the years.

 The challenges of the company includes winning back of the customers who have stop going to
the restaurant. This is because the loyal customer of the company has left and went for the other
rivals of the company like shake shack, five guys and chipotle.
 The customers are even choosing burger kind due to the low prices of the food menu which the
company is selling[ CITATION bus15 \l 1033 ].

The main challenge which is faced by the companydominosare:

 The lack of communication which turned out to be the biggest problem of the company. The
communication problem occurred in the company due to the overload of information.
 The executives had to deal with the online order and dine in order at the same time which
became too much information for them. This problem created a huge mess in the communication
techniques of the dominos[ CITATION hos18 \l 1033 ].

In the company Hawkins the most important challenge which is being found was regarding their
strategies of distribution.

 This issue occurred because they failed to understand dynamic effects of the changing.
 They even failed to understand the long term distribution strategy which was important for them[
CITATION icm19 \l 1033 ].

Management techniques
The management technique that has been applied by the companies MC Donald, dominos and
Hawkins is the environmental intelligence. The environmental intelligence of the company deals
with departmental connections and the external consultants. The management techniques over
here are mentioned regarding the solutions to the challenges of each company.

According to the challenge identified of Mc Donald’s some of the solutions needs to be


implemented which will deal with the challenges of the company. One solution that is chosen for
the company Mc Donald is improving their sales and marketing strategies.
In order to develop the sales and marketing strategies of the company, certain steps should be
followed.

Identification of the clarity problem:

The problem identification refers to addressing of the actual issue which the customers are facing
regarding the service or the cost of the product offered by the company. Sometimes the problems
of the customer are not clear to the company in order to deal with that the company has to know
the requirements of the customer.

Development of the competitive advantage

In order to develop the sales and marketing strategies of the company the competitive advantage
of the company needs development as well. In this case the company can define the competitive
advantage to their customers, specifically the reason for availing there food menus and services
in terms of benefits, outcomes and results which will satisfy the customer of the company.

The challenge which is identified for the company dominos needs a solution of quality service to
the customers. In order to deliver quality service to the customers the company has to follow
some strategies mentioned below.

Providing quick response to the customers:

One of the most important parts for providing quality services to the customers includes
fast and quick response to them or their issues. That is the most sensitive time for the
customers when they are requesting for something. In that case the company dominos
should provide quick responses to their customer which will be considered as an quality
service for them.

Fixing up the mistakes:

The quality service for the customers includes the fixing up of the mistakes as well else
the company dominos can develop poor reputation in the market. The most important part
in any business is their transparency which automatically has the connection with the
customer service.
According to the challenge identified of the company Hawkins, the company should apply the
solution techniques dealing with the reputation of the company. There are certain steps
mentioned below which will help the company Hawkins to develop their reputation.

 Contributing social and economic development for the community.


 Introducing innovation theories to the company.
 Upholding principles of sustainable development
 Valuing the employees of the company as on the basis of their performance the company
will run.

Stakeholder
The stakeholder of the companies consists of two types of stakeholder one is the internal
stakeholder and the one is the external stakeholder.

Internal and External stakeholder of Mc Donald :


 Employees – Internal Stakeholders: It is necessary for Mc Donald to provide the
employees with proper training of managing the production and handling the customers
to reduce the overall percentage of investment of the company. Training will bring the
necessary engagement of the employees as they will now be more motivated towards
their work of food production and hence reduce the rate of employee turnover and
absenteeism. Thus this will be an important step towards increasing the overall amount of
production which will maintain the efficiency and hence bring the satisfaction of the
customers as more number of customers will be flocked towards Mc Donald for their
quality of food.
 Environment Ministry – External Stakeholders: This governing body will have a
major influence on the production of Mc Donald and the waste disposal and recycle
process that they follow. The stores should be located in such places that do not cause
any displacement of the tribal population and production process should be such that it
does not cause any harm to the environment, community or the climate of the country.
Internal and External stakeholder of Domino’s pizza:
 Employees – Internal Stakeholders: These involves the cooking staff, and the heads of
operation. Therefore, these employees have to be trained on purpose for imparting
knowledge on the use of fresh items for the preparation of the dishes. The culture of
putting in fresh items for daily preparation of food should be resonated through every
store of Dominos. Moreover, the motivation of the staff will allow them to innovate new
kind of items at a certain interval of time.
 Environment Ministry – External Stakeholders: The Ministry of Environment should
be satisfied enough with the processing and packaging of foods of the company. The use
of plastic has been removed by the replacement of usable packages which are all
biodegradable. Implementing this innovation will minimize the amount of waste
generated by dominos.

Internal and External stakeholders of Hawkins:


 Employees- Internal Stakeholders: Employees of Hawkins have to be motivated
enough to innovate and implement new ideas themselves. Thus the company will be able
to stay ahead of the competitors available in th market as has been discussed in the above
section of this report. Moreoevr, renewable source of energy can also be implemented by
the company for the purpose of production. The recruitment of the employees should be
done through the “Research and Development” section and trained accordingly for the
purpose of using the renewable forms of energy. The internal compliance will involve the
employees to cater to the demand and need of the customers.
 Environment Ministry – External Stakeholders: During construction, Hawkins cannot
get involved in producing such energy that will emit such pollutants in the atmosphere
that will result in the depletion of the ozone layer. This will have an adherence to the
“Ozone Layer protection Act” of 1996.
Compliance

Mc Donald
Internal Compliance:

Health and safety policy has been chosen for the compliance management according to the
internal compliance of the company Mc Donald. The health and safety policy are considered as
the manual which provides information regarding procedures and guidelines of health and safety
in an organization.

Principles

The company Mc Donald can promote professional and personal safety, wellness and health
policies in their workplace. The company can protect the health and safety of the employees by
taking care of their health issues. The company should provide information to the employees
regarding the health and safety hazard. The company Mc Donald should maintain a risk
management program for dealing with risks and emergency situations occurring in the company.
The working hours in a week should be fixed and there should also be a roster ready for the week
offs of the employees.

Implementation of the health and safety policies

In order to implement the health and safety policy in the company, the capabilities and the
support mechanisms are needed to be developed. The objectives and the target of the health and
safety policy need to be informed and explained to the employees engaged in the implementation
process. The methods of risk management should also be used in the implementation process in
order to detect the risks and set objectives for eliminating them. The performance standard can
be established for measuring the performances and the achievements of the employees.

Communication

The communication here refers to the communication with their employees regarding the
hazardous substances present in their workplace. The communication means providing
information to the employees regarding any particular hazards or methods to deal with those
hazards. It also means delivering the details of the policies word to word and mouth to mouth.
Once properly communicated the employees and every member of the company should be able
to follow them.

Training

The supervisors as well as the employees should be knowledgeable and experienced enough to
deal with the safety policies and the health hazards present in the company for which the
company should give training to the employees regarding the health and safety policies which
are going to be implemented in the company.

External Compliance: The Company has to follow the law of employment as has been certified
by the government of the country. This will provide certain rights and specific obligations for the
employees and the employers. A minimum wage has to be paid to each of the employee and no
employee can be paid an amount below the lowest limit of wage as provided by the government.
Every employee has the right to check the rights on the website of both the websites of the
company and the government. On the other hand, it is the obligation of the employee to to
perform the job roles with care and competency by exploiting individual skill.

Dominos
Internal Compliance:

According to the internal compliance of the company dominos code of conduct has been chosen
as a compliance management technique. The code of conduct can be considered as the initial
stage of implementing several employment policies in the company. Code of conduct basically
includes the policies for the employees in the workplace such as compliance with law, respect in
the workplace, protecting the property of the company.

Implementation

Dominos before implementing the code of conduct needs to frame a rough structure which will
include the list of methods for implementing this, the method of publishing the code inside the
work place and the benefits of codes of the employment policies that are going to be
implemented in the company.
Communication

The communication here will refer to the information provided to the employees regarding each
employment policies which are going to be implemented in the company. the employees needs to
be communicated to make them understand each and every employment policy and taking an
acceptance from them as it is the most integral part.

Training

Training is provided to the employees regarding the employment policies so that they can abide
by the rules and regulations of those employment policies. Training is provided so that they can
meet the requirements and the goals of each every employment policy which are going to be
implemented in the company.

External Compliance:

Food Safety Policy: This policy as has been stated by the government of NZ is all about
providing suitable and safe food. Thus Dominos has to develop, implement and the standards of
the food as has been stated by the government. It also has to provide the official assurance of and
other certification for the delivery of the food items. In case any of the regulations of the policy
is breached the company will be imposed a huge amount of fine and any of a very serious breach
may even cause the cancellation of license.

Hawkins
Internal Compliance:

Professional development can be chosen as the compliance management technique according to


the internal scenario of the company. The term professional development is referred to the
learning of the employees which includes the professional credential learning. The professional
development also includes improving of the capabilities of the employees.

Implementation

The implementation method of the professional development involves supporting of


collaboration, choosing of the model for practicing effectively is also a part of the
implementation process. The process of implementation also includes various training programs
or development programs which is important for the company Hawkins to deliver to their
employees.

Communication

Communication in the professional development includes encouraging and motivating the


employees to take part in the professional development programs as this will help the employees
to improve their capabilities and skills. The communication method which should be used
regarding the professional development is face to face communication method.

Training

Training should be given to the employees for developing their skills, managing of the
challenging situations and this training will be considered as the part of the professional
development training.

External Compliance:

Tax policy: The compliance to the policy of taxes as has been imposed by the government has to
adhere by Hawkins. The company has to fulfill all the obligations of tax as has been specified by
the NZ Government. The compliance is all about how much the company follows the tax policy
as has been stated by the government to pay off the taxes and the obligations.

Conclusion

New Zealand is having a business economy and environment for any business to flourish. The
investors of any of the company as has been discussed above in the report have a good option to
select the best environment for the purpose of their business and to maintain the same. The
business in the country is supported by structure, such as sufficient rules, safety of the employees
and a very supporting economy for business. These factors work equally for the development of
each and every type of business where the several opportunities of exploration are presented.
The environment in the country allows business transparency and hence each of the companies
as discussed in the report will able to have a smooth operation of their business. Moreover, the
registration policy for doing business in the country is also easy that allows a smoother and
seamless registration. The business model presented by the government acts as a guidebook for
framing the business model for each of the operating company in the country. The regulations for
business are not strictly framed and are easily compatible with each and every structure of the
business. The economy provides a high power of purchase to the customers as the economy
being strong the people are also affluent in general. The rate of interest of tax in the country is
lower and that allows a high disposal income which makes them keep money for spending in
several kinds of purchase.
