Coursework 1–Production
Production 1: VFX for 3D Scene

This coursework assesses the following Learning Outcomes of the module:


LO1: understand the advanced concepts, creative and technical issues related to
VFX;
LO3: demonstrate a capability to choose the appropriate advanced techniques
and tools as well as apply in practice the knowledge and skills to match project
requirements and suggest effective problem solutions;
Coursework Introduction

This coursework enables you to develop your skills in developing and applying
VFX on to a 3D animation scene.

In your 1stcoursework, are to make VFX using Maya and apply it to a single Maya
animation scene or 2 different Maya animation scenes.
Instructions

Your task for this coursework is to implement VFX in a Maya scene. You will
have to
o make at least 2 VFX footages in Maya and apply them on to an
animation scene.

For your first coursework,, you will just need to submit the VFX video footages
and footages of VFX being applied to the scene(s). Breakdown video is not
necessary for this
s coursework.

Deliverables
- Maya project files with all sources for textures.
- Project progress documentation with all the details of how the project was
carried out.

Contents
Folder Structure: Documentation – This folder should contain
the soft copy of the documentation submitted.

Photoshop Files – Should contain the
Photoshop Files Photoshop source files used for the model.

Maya Files Maya Files – Should contain the Autodesk


Maya Binary Files. The proper folder structure
Rendered Images is expected.

 Readme.txt Rendered Images – Should contain the


rendered images Maya in .jpg format.
 References.txt
Readme.txt – Should contain student name,
student ID, and course of study, lecturer name
and folder and file structure of location
information.

References.txt – Should contain the proper


links of any external sources used in the
project.

Note: Harvard style referencing must be used for reference.
