WRITTEN REPORT ON BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS (20%)

OVERVIEW

The Business Model Canvas is a great tool to help you understand a business model in a
straightforward, structured way. Using this canvas will lead to insights about the customers you
serve, what value propositions are offered through what channels, and how your company makes
money. You can also use the business model canvas to understand your own business model or
that of a competitor! The Business Model Canvas was created by Alexander Osterwalder, of
Strategyzer. The business model canvas is a shared language for describing, visualizing,
assessing and changing business models. It describes the rationale of how an organization
creates, delivers and captures value.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. This is an INDIVIDUAL project.

2. Each student needs to print or draw the canvas on an A4 paper (landscape format).
3. Start by mapping out the innovative product or service that you developed earlier (i.e. the
New Product Development) into a business.
4. Link up all the building blocks. You must know where to start and end the canvas.
5. You may refer to many videos as the given link at https://youtu.be/QoAOzMTLP5s (2:20mins)
or https://youtu.be/IP0cUBWTgpY (9:41mins) and many more.
6. Complete the canvas in 1 page and give the explaination in another 2 pages. Total of 3
pages only.
7. Student needs to write a final report using the given format.
8. Use Times New Roman 12 or Arial 11 with 1.5 spacing for writing blueprint report.
9. Submission of the report will be given in the task assigned. Failure to do so will jeopardize
the student’s grade for this subject. Penalty will be imposed for the delay of submission.
