3.Assembly
1. An Assembly Instruction is necessary in order for coordinative operation between laser
exposure machine and film developing machine, thus producing high-quality pictures. Prior
to system operation, assembly should be performed to have a complete image output system.
2. Precautions
1). Prior to assembly, film developing machine and laser exposure machine should be placed
on a flat ground as possible.
2). Upon assembly, pay attention to dimension control.
3). Upon assembly, perform all necessary checks, including alignment between paper outlet
and paper inlet of laser exposure machine.

8. Assembly procedure
1. Position the host to a specified location and fix it properly. Adjust the host levelly by
using rubber pads and turning its legs; tighten 4 anchor bolts manually and then by an
adjustable spanner till it is fixed properly.
2. Assembly of film developing machine: carry out pre-assembly as indicated. Interval
distance between main film developing machines is 30mm. Now, two persons are needed.
One adjusts the machines till they are unmovable and another opens its legs. One these
legs touch the ground, the person tightens their bolts to fix the machine.

3. Now, the interface of the film developing machine may be inserted into that of the host. In
the meanwhile, the host and the film developing machine are elevated, and the distance
between the feeder of the machine and the ground surface is adjusted. Due to assembly
error, the distance is different. It is between 936~940mm for 4A machine, however,
938mm is recommended.
It is between 816~820mm for 32F machine, however, 818mm is recommended.

12. Adjust monitor’s display color: For the equipment’s output photo color is different
with monitor’s display color. In order to make the color uniform, please adjust printing
equipment output color and make the ICC, and adjust the monitor’s display color.
There are so many methods to adjust the monitor. Now we take the example of Gama
and make a simple declaration.

(1) Find the Adobe Gama program and open it. Usually the program has been installed in the
operating system. Start---Control Panel---Adobe Gama. Please download the program if it
has not been installed in the system.
(2) Run the program and adjust the display color following the prompts. Print the standard
chart from the exposure machine. And open the chart on the computer which with the

Attachment 2: Paper channel (for ImageEditR2.1.8.2 or higher)

Purpose
Color may vary with variable printing condition and environment, for instance paper type,
chemical agent, laser wavelength (unchangeable for single computer) and temperature etc;
hence different color-match files are needed. In normal calibration, color correction may be
performed according to these files (color-match file depends on paper type).
Color-match files may be postfixed with *.cpr and set under ColorTable directory of
ImageEdit.exe application; in this way, the color correction program is accessible to it.
Create new paper channel
After DAC Calibration, a new paper channel should be setup as follow.
1. Select “color correction” from “file” menu, click “Advanced”, and then click “(1) Gray
scale making, as show blow. Click “Reset Color Table” and “Next”, follow the same
steps as DAC Calibration.
Repeat 2nd step until the program shows this calibration pass or you are satisfied with the last
color strip.

2. Select “color correction” from “file”

menu, click “Advanced”, and then click “(2) PaperProfile Making” as show blow. Click
“(1) Density Measure”, and then follow the instruction to measure the density of the last
color strip. After that, click “Bk Cure” to check the density different between
measurements and program’s calculation. If knowing the paper’s characteristic, not to
choose “Auto adapt” and enter the maximum density that recommended by the paper
suppliers in the “DMax” frame.
3. Click “(2) Build Paper Profile” to build the paper’s channel, Click “save” to save as

Atachment 3:ICC Profile File Creation

COLOR MANAGEMENT OF THIS PRINTING SYSTEM MAY BE REALIZED AS
FOLLOWS:
z COLOR SELF-CORRECTION: print test strip when every start-up to measure
density and adjust luminous flux to control gray balance; thus to keep optimal color
(max color number) and maintain color stability.
z Use Icc Profile (international color council profile) to realize and maintain color
consistency when copying color from color space among platforms or equipment and
to verily revert to original color. This system adopts ProfileMaker software
developed by GretagMacbeth Company to create Icc Profile and color management
function in PhotoShop or ImgSend (printing task management program) to manage
color. Because ProfileMaker software and eye-one device may be used to correct
display, “WYSWYG” is realizable via PhotoShop.

Changing printing conditions such as chemical agent, paper and etc may cause unstable color;
therefore color must be corrected on a daily basis. Furthermore, when color changes
significantly, for example laser power changes, color correction can assure color consistency.
When color changes substantially, a new Profile should be created if different paper or
chemical agent is used.
Usually, it is recommended to create a Profile per week (or longer). Due to aging
phosphorescent powder, display should be calibrated per week or longer (when no major
change); however, this is performed at user’s discretion.

¾ Screen correction
To realize WYSWYG, screen correction must be performed firstly and a Profile file be
created for the screen. However, this file is set as the system’s defaulted display color
management file. On the other hand, a Profile file must be created for output equipment. See
next section - “Profile File Creation” for Profile creation.
Screen correction may be realized via Eye-one. Firstly, adjust the screen’s optimal working
performance via screen correction function of ProfileMaker, then create Profile file.
Select “Monitor” attribute page, select monitor type - CRT/LCD from Reference, and select
“eye-one” from Sample; and then calibrate monitor. After measured, save the data. Click
“Start” under “Calculate Profile” to create Profile file.
Match software developed by GretagMacbeth Company is available for screen correction.

¾ Profile File Creation

Before operating, color correction must be
finished.
Operation procedure is as follows:
1. Install GretagMacbeth’s
ProfileMaker software via setup file
PM_Pro415_Setup on the CD. Its
security dog (USB port) must be
inserted in your computer.
2. There are many test images (select
one image suitable for measuring
equipment) in Testcharts folder under
ProfileMaker Professional under the
setup directory; enter EyeOne folder
to select TC9.18 RGB A3 i1.tif
