The issue in the article is about the cancel culture that is currently worsening days by days
which usually entails public figure such as celebrities, politician and influencers.

Firstly, the author argued that people should not outrageously judging other people. In this
article, we can see that the author states an example of Vivy Yusof who has been condemning
for not choosing her words properly. Secondly, the author also clarified that people should
not over harassing Vivy Yusof because she is also a human being who tends to make
mistakes. Furthermore, the second author’s point of view is where the author outlined that the
public shaming and cyber bullying has resulted in rising cases of suicidal due to excessive
amount of online hatred towards the victims.

The supporting detail of the first argument is explanation type supporting details where the

unfortunately, people often forget that she is merely a human being where making mistakes is
one of the norms in life. The second supporting details is example type supporting details

The relevant of the article is good as the title of this article which is Cancel Culture
corresponds with the contents. The author mentioned about the incident that has previously
linked with cancel culture such as Vivy Yusof’s remarks. Furthermore, the author somehow
is not focus on her objectivity in this article where she clearly being biased with Vivy Yusof
received a backlash of her own words and the action taken for her is too much. However, the
author did not take any account of the Malaysian’s netizen feelings about her harsh remarks
towards the people, not even considering the hardship they are facing. Besides, the
completeness of this article is not hundred per cent where the author left it hanging, the first
five paragraphs emphasized on the cancel culture until the last and second last paragraph the
author stated about the result and percentage of online bullying and how it takes toll on
human’s mental health Moreover, the validity and credibility of this article is not
questionable as the author included a statistic from World Health Organization (WHO))
predicts that the rate of suicide deaths will rise to one every 20 seconds and over the last 45
years, suicide rates have risen by 60% globally. The statistic has strengthened the supports
used in the text thus making reliable.

To sum up, the author is making awareness upon people to stop being aggressive in judging
someone that is happening right now in cancel culture because it will affect all aspect in
someone life. Cancelling someone by boycotting, harassing and embarrassing also making
trolls is taking toll on their state of mind. It’s a wrong thing to do because the dreadful impact
of their life, reputation, relation and others aspect will affect. Thus, as human, we must think
about other people life too before we jump into conclusion to spread hatred and cancelling
