The fabric cover is always fine thanks to the small shed
opening, which keeps warp tensions low. The warp

machines for lighter-weight yarns (up to 550 dTex) or for
smaller widths (up to 280 cm wide). In this range, the
quality and the power usage remain within the physical
reach of today’s airjet technology.

High-speed leno weaving is available on
OptiMax rapier weaving machine. The range
of yarns that can be processed in warp and

The standard and leno ends do not cross in the back

shed and thanks to the straight path of the yarns through
the eyelets, warp tensions can be kept extremely low.
All elements in contact with the yarns are polished and
hardened. The leno system combines a Stäubli positive
cambox for the vertical component of the shed formation
with an electric motor for the selection. Weft insertion
is carried out by Free Flight or guided rapier systems.
For the production of crimp-free fabrics, a double-beam
solution is available.

The system has been designed to make drawing-in and

style changes very user-friendly. The high-speed Optileno
system can be exchanged with common harness frames
in only a few hours, thanks to the modular design. The
harness suspension elements just stay in the machine.

Picanol recommends its OMNIplus 800 airjet weaving
machines for light filament fabrics. The sensors in the
prewinders and the weft detectors perfectly deal with
the very fine mono- and multi-filament yarns being
processed at very high speeds. The electronic let-off,
take-up and Sumo direct drive system make it easy to
eliminate starting marks or weaving marks completely.
The air consumption can by reduced to a minimum by
means of the Adaptive Relay Valve Drive system (ARVD,

used on double-width machines.

used for these fabric types.
