who have sent in their dues. Dues are delinquent as of February 1
and there is a delinquency fee of $50. The roster will only include
members whose dues are received by March 1, 2011. A dues form is
included in this newsletter. Thank you for the support of your club.

his is my first column of
the year 2011 and as
your Commodore.
When I look back over the his-
tory and development of the
Napa Valley Yacht Club and
realize all of the people that
have committed their time and
contributed their energy to
bring the club to where it is
now and how successful it has
been in the past, it is humbling.
Each year the Commodore
develops a theme for the year;
mine is going to be “Steer the
Course” that has been set by
past officers and members.
The Board and Officers this
year are a mix of experience
and energy that bodes well for
a very successful year.
Plans for 2011 call for trying
some new events and some dif-
ferent approaches in the han-
dling of our weekly dinners. I
believe we are starting to see an
increase in visiting yacht clubs
and we should approach recip-
rocity in their direction.
The first Board of Directors

Changes for 2011 in the Galley
NVYC Friday Dinners and Sunday Brunches
The club has entered into an agreement with Chef Tyler
Anderson to set-up, cook and clean for Friday dinners,
Sunday brunches, cruise-ins or events as requested. As
host you simply need to collect money from everyone,
greet members and collect dinner tickets; you do not need
to cook or purchase anything. You can cook yourself if you
prefer, with prior arrangement. Potluck Fridays will con-
tinue as before with one member/host setting up and 2010 Lighted Boat Parade - 10 boats
cleaning up. For Chef Anderson dinners and Sunday
cruised our river neighborhoods on
brunches, only one member/couple is required as host.
Following is the plan and the menus for the first six weeks

Minutes
Meeting called to order at 1730 hours, November 9,
2010 at NVYC Clubhouse by Commodore Larry Wolfe.
Present: Larry Wolfe, Dirk Kruidenier, Bill Newton,
Bob Weeks, Donald Buresh, Charlie Alegria, Steve
Vartan, Avi Strugo, Staff Commodore Clay Parker.
Excused: Lynn Pritchett, Bob Stephenson, Chris Fultz
Reports:
• Treasurer Vartan reported we have $76,101.00 in
bank. Report accepted.
• Dolphin Tours will be using our dock again this
year
• Four clubs are already signed up for cruise-ins in
2011
• Maxine Maas reported that PICYA awarded our
club One Star status
• 500 cling-on burgees will be ordered for members to
place on vehicles
• Treasurer will discuss a contract with Tyler
Anderson to cook Friday Night Dinners next year
Motions Passed:
• Ask Coast Guard Auxiliary for $50 donation for
each time they use our Clubhouse
• Visiting boats will be charged $1.00 per foot up to
49’ and $1.25 per foot over 49’ for use of our dock

• Coast Guard Auxiliary will find new facility to meet next year.

• Commodore reported we had 70 people attend Chili Dinner after boat parade.
• Director Fultz reported we have received our permit to operate commercial kitchen from
Environmental Health Department.
• Treasurer reported we have signed contract with Tyler Anderson to prepare Friday night dinners.
• Rear Commodore will install more shelves behind bar for glasses.

Recreational Boaters of California (RBOC) represents the interests of recreational boat-

ers in the Legislature. The Pacific Inter-Club Yacht association (PICYA) is an association
of yacht clubs that provides education programs for club officers and directors, programs
such as the Wheelchair Regatta and Opening Day on the Bay. Club annual dues ($240)
have been at the same level since 2007.

Dues are due January 1, 2011 and are delinquent February 1, 2011. Delinquency fee is
$50. The 2011 roster will be published based on the dues received prior to March 1, 2011.
