Bloomberg
Two Open Bloomberg terminals are available in the Library and offer a wide range of analytical functions for
research in the international financial markets. Use Bloomberg to:

• find background data on stocks, bonds, market indices, currencies and commodities
• obtain technical and fundamental analyses
• search and produce custom reports

Global Insight
Long-term macro and micro economic time series. Covering over 200 countries. The database provides tools for
graphing and analyzing the data.
Available in the library only.

Datastream
Datastream provides extensive current and historical coverage of fundamental data for international equity, bond,
commodities, foreign exchange and futures markets. Macroeconomic statistics and company accounts for listed
companies are also available. Use Datastream for:
- time series for price and other market indicators for different financial instruments as well as for macroeconomic
data.
- graphical display and analysis
- search and custom report generation

The London Business School Library provides access to Datastream Advance and Datastream AFO. We
recommend using AFO for the downloading of time series and Company Accounts data, use Advance for
generating reports and graphs.

Economist Intelligence Unit


The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) service provides timely and independent analysis on worldwide market trends
and business strategies. EIU provides continuous assessment and forecasting for political economic business
conditions in almost 200 countries. The EIU Country Reports and EIU Country Profiles series are archived from
1996 onwards.

EIU Country Data


Is a comprehensive database of economic indicators and forecasts, covering 317 series for 150 countries, as well
as 45 regional aggregates, running from 1980 and forecasting out five years. For the 60 most important markets,
key variables are additionally projected to 2030 in order to facilitate business planning. You can select by country,
region or user grouping, then series and date. Displays can also be ordered in the same ways. Analytical functions
provide a choice of charts, screening for countries and segmentation of countries. Data can be exported to Excel
spreadsheets.

EIU Market Data and Statistics


A database of economic, demographic, consumption and industry data on 60 major countries worldwide and 11
regional aggregates, stretching back to 1990. The product includes detailed economic and industry forecasts for the
next five years and longer-term economic projections. You can select by country, region or user grouping, then
series and date. Displays can also be ordered in the same ways. Analytical functions provide choice of charts. Data
can be exported to Excel worksheets.
Global Financial Data
Global Financial Data (GFD) provides an extensive collection of over 3,000 long-term international financial and
macroeconomic data indicators, in some cases dating back several centuries, which can be graphed and/or
downloaded for use in spreadsheets or databases.

GMID
Global Marketing Information Database (GMID) provides quantitative international market volume, value share and
forecast data. GMID covers over 350 markets and 207 countries. In addition to statistical data it has in depth market
analysis reports covering, consumer, industrial and service sectors. It also has profiles for leading FMCG
companies.

IFS
This database includes Macroeconomic data, Commodity prices, Trade statistics, Interest Rates and Exchange
rates easily downloadable. Data is from the International Monetary Fund’s International Financial Statistics
publication. The Library also holds the IFS yearbook from 1980 onwards

ISI Emerging Markets


ISI Emerging Markets provides a single, specialised source of information on:

- current news, comment & analysis


- company accounts; financial markets data
- markets for products & services
- macroeconomic statistics
- legal & regulatory climate

Our subscription covers the BRIC countries (ie Brazil, Russia, India and China). Material is published in either
English or local language(s).

SourceOECD
SourceOECD offers access to all 14 OECD statistical databases covering key areas of macroeconomic data,
including Economic Outlook, Employment, Industrial Structure, International Trade, Direct Investment, Main
Economic Indicators, and National Accounts

Annual Abstract of Statistics


The library holds this UK publication from 1947 onwards. It ‘contains statistics on the United Kingdom'
s economy,
industry, society and demography presented in easy to read tables and backed up with explanatory notes and
definitions. It is compiled from 100 sources and has more than 10,000 series’. Much of this data can also be got via
the Internet at www.statistics.gov.uk
Demographic Yearbook
Published by the United Nations Department of International Economic and Social Affairs.

European Marketing Data and Statistics


Contains statistical data on topics as diverse as population, economic indicators, consumer expenditure in different
sectors, Retail distribution and household characteristics etc. The library also holds the title International Marketing
Data and Statistics.

Eurostatistics
Monthly data ‘for short term economic analysis’ published by Eurostat, the European Communities’ statistical office.

IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook


Contains country tables as well as statistical tables where the top 30 countries are ranked. The statistical tables
cover topics within the following headings as Economic Performance, Government Efficiency, Business Efficiency
and Infrastructure.

International Trade Statistics Yearbook


Published annually by the World Trade Organization.

International Yearbook of Industrial Statistics


Principally organised as Country tables, it provides such data as numbers of establishments, numbers of employees
and average wages paid, by ISIC industry codes. The yearbook is published by the United Nations Industrial
Development Organization.

Statistical Abstract of the United States


Published on an annual basis by the US Census Bureau. It provides a ‘summary of statistics on the social, political
and economic organization of the United States. The Library holds copies from 1975 onwards.

Statistical Yearbook
Published by the United Nations. It covers information on population and social statistics, economic activity and
international economic relations. The data is generally a couple of years old, by the time it is published, so for
example, the 2006 edition may only contain data up to 2003/2004.

Yearbook of Labour Statistics


The Library has a ten-year holding of this and the quarterly Bulletin of Labour Statistics. The International Labour
Office publishes both publications.
