ABSTRACT

In any proposal for daily diet chart, it is essential to observe whether the foods in the diet supply
the necessary ingredients for active and disease free living. The purpose of this work is to make a
quantitative estimate of the polyphenols supply per day from the diet chart proposed by me,
because the polyphenols play an important role in maintaining ones health and wellness. In
estimation of the polyphenols, I have evaluated the quantities of phenolic acids, flavonoids and
other phenolics in each item of the diet and added them up to get the daily supply of the above
per day. From the estimation of polyphenols, I have calculated the daily consumption of
polyphenols from the proposed diet and compared it with that consumed by people of other
countries. The result shows that the quantities of polyphenols obtained from my proposed diet
matches successfully with that consumed by persons of other countries.

Key Words: polyphenols , diet, phenolic acids, flavonoids, other phenolics.
