 Gerardo Luna introduced as a salesman and has a dream in life to go to the


forest.

 He tells his wife but she doubt if the purpose is not for the business.

 His wife died and this made him the opportunity to be with Ambo.

 At the point he realize that it was not the forest he had dreamed and also
realized that he did not want the life in the forest.

 Introduction- It was a sun up above the sky is blue and Pedro Buhay a
farmer he was eating and he was hurry to go back to work.
 Raising Action- When Pedro lift his coat it contains the small key on his

 Falling Action- And when Pedro found out that trunk is empty.
 Denouement- Soledad was still ill and Pedro is trying not to be angry with
her.

-A rusty small key has a big meaning to Pedro because it reminds it with his first

 Pedro feel worry because of Tia Maria said that his wife have a fever so
Pedro hurry up to go to the town to look Dr. Santos but after the doctor

angry to Soledad and wait here to explain what happen.

3. Give a brief summary of each part of the story.

Part I:
 One morning Soledad finds herself knowing that the farm will produce
plenty but that she still had some of inner feeling of discontent. She
planned to mend some of her husband’s shirts, which were in a locked
trunk. Pedro look out from his pocket a string which held two keys, one
large and shiny and one small and rusty. He gave Soledad the large key
to his trunk and put the small key back in his jacket pocket. Since it was
hot that morning, he removed his coat before leaving to work in the
field. When he was gone, Soledad began to fold the jacket and the
small key fell to the floor. It is obvious that Pedro values the small key
while Soledad fears it. Soledad knows that the small key is a key to a
different trunk. She wonders why it is that he keeps her old clothing and
why he seems to have a special feeling about them. She obviously fears
that Pedro still loves his first wife even though she has been dead for
many years by now.

Part II:
 She reveals that she hates the things in the small trunk and worries that
they will destroy the relationship between her and her husband. Despite

her attempts to not think about the contents of the small trunk, Soledad
opens it. At this point, Pedro returns home to find Soledad in bed
supposedly with a fever. It turns out she does not. The next morning
Pedro discovers a pile of ashes and half burnt clothing in the backyard.
He realizes what Soledad has done and rushes to look in the trunk to
confirm it. Soledad has indeed burned his first wife’s clothing. Pedro is
angry and bitter that this has happened and he expects that Soledad
will explain things later. He thinks to himself that he will forgive her
because he loves her but that even if she did it out of love for him, it will
always remain a matter of some resentment toward her for doing it.

no fire or smoke.

 When Rosa on her way to bleach the clothes some dogs chasing
each other on the street, she did not notice because the women
were praising her for the whiteness of the linen in the basin on her
head. When one of the dogs passed swiftly very close to her looking
down she saw in wide alarm another dog close on the heels of the
first, an instinctive fear animals made her want to dodge the
heedlessly running dog. Her patadiong was tight in their wetness
about her legs and she fell down in the middle of the street.
2. Did Rosa get mad when a cochero tried to help her? Why or why not?
 At first yes she started angrily tell him that there was plenty of
room at the sides of the street she couldn’t move. But she found out
no time to protest.

 No, because the mistress sudden anger and striking Rosa then she
saw Rosa in tears and started crying and cowering. Rosa crept out

 The meaning of the first stanza is how the song feel his
