INTRODUCTION
The construction industry made a procedure to guarantee that construction specifications
convey project needs effectively. Specifications describe the materials and workmanship
required for a development and completion a construction project. Specification sections are
customized in order to accurately describe the intended materials, and then these sections are
used by the team to identify the type of products that should be used onsite.

COMPONENTS OF A BUIDING
There are two basic components of a building.

1. Sub Structure: The part of building that is constructed below ground level.

2. Super Structure: The part of building that is above ground level.

OUTLINE SPECIFICATIONS
Based on definitions from the AIA Handbook and the CSI Manual of Practice, an outline
specification is an itemized list, using brief, concise statements, of significant materials,
systems, and equipment and their criteria and levels of quality. In Addition, any criteria having
a special cost impact would be indicated.

DETAILED SPECIFICATION
Detailed specification provides the exact nature size, performance of materials and equipments
that’ll be used in the building.
