About This Manual

At first, thank you for choosing ZXSS10 SS1b of ZTE Corporation!


ZXSS10 SS1b is fully compatible with the layered standard NGN
model. It can provide NGN with service call and connection con-
trol functions which are required by real-time services. By using
ZXSS10 SS1b, operators can provide users with many kinds of
multimedia services which involve voice, video and data. ZXSS10
SS1b is, therefore, the core of NGN in terms of call and control.
This manual provides users with operation guides by describing
how to configure a Multi-line Selected (MLS) group.

The ZXSS10 SS1b manufactured by ZTE CORPORATION meet

assembly. To guarantee compliance of the assembly, the need for

MLS Group Service


Introduction
A certain number of users can be grouped in a multi-line selected
(MLS) group. An MLS group has a pilot number. When a user
not in an MLS group dials the pilot number, users in the group
can answer the call in the multi-line selected mode. The multi-
line mode can be set to three selection modes: cyclic selection,
sequential selection and random selection. A user can be grouped
in more than one MLS groups.
Generally, users in an MLS group cannot apply for new services like
call transfer service, do-not-disturb service and call-back-on-busy
service at the same time.

Adding an MLS Group


Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have allocated subscribers and the subscribers have the
calling rights.
Context This topic describes how to configure the properties of an MLS
group.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Multi-Line Selected Group Con-
figuration.
The Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration interface ap-
pears, as shown in Figure 1.

2. In the Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration interface,


click the Add button.
The Add Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration dialogue
box appears, as shown in Figure 2.

3. Set the parameters by referring to Table 1.

GROUP CONFIGURATION

Parameter Description

Group ID MLS group ID. It cannot be greater than


the MLS group capacity. This ID must be
unique in MLS groups, closed user groups
and Centrex groups.

Zone ID ID of the zone in which group users are


configured. The pilot lines of PBX groups and
group users are all in the zone.

Pilot Line’s LATA The area code of the pilot number.

Pilot Line’s Net The network ID of the pilot line.

Physical Pilot Line The physical number of a pilot number.


Number

Logistic Pilot Line The number displayed to a callee who is not


Number in the MLS group. This number is the logic
number instead of a physical number.

Group Account The charged number in a CDR. This can be

LOOP, ODDEVEN, PRIORITY LOOP and
LAST USE.

Pilot LATA The area code of the pilot line number.

Pilot Line is If this is selected, when a user in a multi-line

Adding a Group User


Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have configured an MLS group.
Context This topic describes how to add a group user to an MLS group.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Multi-Line Selected Group Con-
figuration.
The Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration interface ap-
pears.
2. In the Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration interface,
click the Query button and select a group from the results.
Then click the Group User Conf. button.
The Users in Group Configuration interface appears, as
shown in Figure 4.

3. In the Users in Group Configuration interface, click the Add


button. The Add Users in Group Configuration dialogue box
appears, as shown in Figure 5.

4. Set the parameters by referring to Table 2.

Parameter Description

Group ID The MLS group ID selected in step 2.

User’s Net ID of the network to which a user number


belongs.

User’s LATA A user’s code area.

User Number The physical number of a user.

Priority It is 1 by default.

Multi-line If you select Yes, the multi-line selected mode


Selected Flag is applied; if No, the multi-line selected mode
is not applied.

Number When When PBX interconnects with SS in the PRA


Called user mode, if a caller calls a PRA user, SS will
convert the number into an extension number
and send it to PBX.

User Account The charged number in a CDR. It can be any

MLH Service Introduction


Multiline Hunt (MLH) group refers to that a certain number of users
form an MLH group by sharing a number. When a user not in an
MLH group calls the pilot number of an MLH group, a free user
line will be connected automatically. An MLH group only needs
one user number as the pilot number. The group numbers are the
TIDNAMEs of the physical interfaces in an AG.

Adding an MLH Group


Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have allocated subscribers and the subscribers have the
calling rights.
Context This topic describes how to configure the properties of an MLH
group.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Multi-Line Selected Group Con-
figuration.
The Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration appears.
2. In the Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration interface,
click the Add button.
The Add Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration dialogue
box appears, as shown in Figure 6.

3. In the Add Multi-Line Selected Group Configuration dia-


logue box, select MLH Group.
For the description of the parameters, refer to Adding an MLS
Group.
4. Click the OK button to finish the configuration.

Configuring TID Default


Property
Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have configured the property template and packet tem-
plate. For more details, refer to ZXSS SS1b Data Configuration
Guide IAD Interconnection.
Context This topic describes how to configure the default properties of AG
node terminal type.
You have to configure the TID default properties of terminals of
the following types.
� Subscriber type
� RTP type

Chapter 2 MLH Configuration

� MLH type
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Protocol >
H248/MGCP Configuration > TID Default Properties
Configuration.
The TID Default Properties Configuration interface ap-
pears.
2. In the TID Default Properties Configuration interface, click
the Add button.
The Add TID Default Properties dialogue box appears, as
shown in Figure 7.

3. In the Add TID Default Properties dialogue box, select


1–Subscriber, 3–RTP and 18–MLH for Terminal Type
respectively and select a configured property template and
packet template.

Note:
� If you select Default Property, MGC will deliver the default
events to MG.
� You can click the OK button to configure another type after
you have finished configuring one type.

4. Click the OK button to finish the configuration.

Adding a Group User


Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have configured an MLH group.
Context This topic describes how to add a user to an MLH group. The MLH
group number is the TIDNAME of the AG physical interface.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Multi-Line Selected Group.
The Multi-Line Selected Group interface appears.
2. In the Multi-Line Selected Group interface, click the Query
button and select an MLH group from the results. Then click
the MLH Group User Conf. button.
The MLH Group User Conf. interface appears.
3. In the MLH Group User Conf. interface, click the Add button.
The Add MLH Group User Conf. dialogue box appears, as
shown in Figure 8.

4. Set the parameters by referring to Table 3.

Group ID MLH group ID.

Node ID ID of the node in which the MLH group users


are configured.

Start Index The start MLH group user index.

End Index The end MLH group user index.

PRI Priority. It is 1 by default.

Chapter 2 MLH Configuration

Parameter Description

MG Resource Name it based on the number of TIDNAME.


Name Taking IAD as an example, if the added
resource is less than 10, you can name it
Number Length as AG5890 and the length is 1; if the added
resource is greater than 100, name it as AG589
and the length is 2.

Start Number The start number of the last digit of the


resource.

Note:
The adding of MLH group here means to add TIDNAME of the
MLH terminal type of AG. Therefore, you can also add it in Ser-
vice Manage > TID NAME Configuration. Select 32–MLH
for MG Resource Type. For the configuration of TIDNAME,
refer to ZXSS10 SS1b Data Configuration Guide IAD Intercon-
nection.

Closed User Group

Closed User Group


Introduction
A closed user group is a closed communication group that consists
of a certain number of users. Users within the group can com-
municate with each other but cannot call out. In the same sense,
users from without cannot make calls to the group users. This
function provides much convenience to users who need confiden-
tial communication.

Adding a Closed User Group


Prerequisites � NetNumenN31 has been connected to the database.
� You have logged in to the Data Configure interface.
� You have allocated subscribers and the subscribers have the
calling rights.
Context This topic describes how to configure the group properties of a
closed user group.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Closed Group Configuration.
The Closed Group Configuration interface appears, as
shown in Figure 9.

2. In the Closed Group Configuration interface, click the Add


button.
The Add Closed Group Configuration dialogue box appears,
as shown in Figure 10.

3. Set the parameters by referring to Table 4.

be unique in MLS groups, closed groups and

� You have configured a closed user group.
Context This topic describes how to add a user to a closed user group.
Steps 1. In the Data Configure interface, select Service Manage >
Group Configuration > Closed Group Configuration.
The Closed Group Configuration interface appears.
2. In the Closed Group Configuration interface, click the
Query button and select a group from the results. The click
the Group User button.
The Closed Group User Configuration interface appears, as
shown in Figure 11.

3. In the Closed Group User Configuration interface, click the


Add button.
The Add Closed Group User dialogue box appears, as shown
in Figure 12.

4. Set the parameters by referring to Table 5.
