Rodeo In Opheim , J un e 1

Eighteen days until the
annual Opheim Rodeo, but
who’s counting?
Actually, a number of
people are, including cowgirls,
cowboys, organizers, fans, area
residents and the like who have
been competitors and spectators
for years. Those from Montana
and out of state, like Brant
Grisdale of Granite Station,
California who competed in the
saddle bronc event in 2019, plus
those from Canada who drop
down to compete and be a fan
are ready to rodeo.
This year’s Opheim
Rodeo, despite the abnormal
nationwide circumstances, is all
systems go for Sunday, June 28,
with the parade along Opheim’s
Main Street starting at 12 noon
and rodeo kicking off at 1:00.
The defending champions
in each event include: Liam
Pauley, Miles City, 76 in saddle
bronc; Tanner Solberg, Richland,
78 in ranch bronc riding; Jay
Billingsley, Glasgow, 13.66 in LITTLE GUY ON BIG HORSE — “Someday,” this future rodeo star is thinking

Meeting at the VFW Thursday
VFW Post 3107 and the Auxiliary will meet
Thursday June 11 at 7:00 pm at the Post to discuss ways
to raise money to support our programs because of the
restrictions resulting from COVID-19. All members are
encouraging to attend.
“We are open for ideas,” said Art Widhalm.
