III. Summary: This lesson will highlight universal human values that remain the same
throughout the years. This will guide students in their journey through life and will
help them realize that no matter how different they might become in the future, their
value system should remain intact. This lesson also offers a good motivation for
students to learn how to use modals in expressing obligation, permission and
prohibition.
V. Learning Objectives:
A. Express permission, obligation, and prohibition using modals. EN9G-IIe-20
B. Use conditionals in expressing arguments
C. Employ the appropriate communicative styles for various situations (intimate,
casual, conversational, consultative, frozen)
A. Preparation:
1. The students will be oriented about the “new normal setting” of learning.
2. The students are advised to stay at home and prepare for virtual learning thus
making sure that they have already received the learning materials (modules,
books, etc.).
3. The students are also encouraged to have a g.mail account for virtual
classroom.
4. Students will be oriented about the do’s and dont’s during home based
learning.
B. Facilitation:
Actual Performance Task
The students will be instructed to the following:
1. Read the story “The Death of a Salesman, Act 1” which is found in their learning
materials.
2. Answer the activity “Characterization” based on the story read.
3. Do the activity “Guess the Message”
4. Read the article http://wwe.esortment.com/family-values-39982.html
5. Do the 3-2-1+1 based on how they understood about the article.
6. Do the “Model Your Modals” activity.
7. Listen as the teacher discusses the rules on using modals of obligation,
permission and prohibition.
8. Evaluation on Learning
9. Do a “Play Review” using the following rubrics
