Introduction
by
The Author of this book
Introduction

This is an introduction to a book, which is itself an

introduction.
It is an introduction to a way of thinking and living life
that has been developing in the human potential
movement for the past ten thousand years, perhaps
longer.
The material of this book is not intended as just
another good idea.
It isn't even about a system of approaching life that I
believe in.
Introduction
This isn't another band aid to put on your life, nor
another "try this" approach.
What this book is about isn't even what it appears to
be about when you read the words.
It is actually about you, but not the "you" that you
ordinarily think of when you think of yourself.
The "you" I want you to know about is the divine you,
the one that includes, but is by no means limited to, the
everyday "you."
Introduction
The purpose of this book is to present you with an
opportunity to experience yourself as divine, a process that
has been called enlightenment down through the ages.
To experience yourself as divine, it is necessary to look at
the everyday "you.“
Everyday you is described in Book I: Knowing the Mind.
At times this may be tedious reading.
You may feel insulted when confronted with the everyday
you.
Introduction

Nevertheless, it is necessary to see all facets of the

everyday you in order to see through everyday you to
divine you.
The terminology presented may be new to you.
It will require some attention and some intention to
make it through the following pages.
It can also be wonderful fun.
The result will be an expansion of your life and a
commitment to participation you may not have imagined
could be "you."
Introduction
I have written each chapter separately from all the rest, so that you
may easily refresh yourself on the material as you lead your life.
My sole purpose in writing these book is to serve you.
I fully recognize the divine you as the true source of what you gain
from reading this work.
All ideas written in this book are to be read and used at your own
responsibility.
These ideas are not meant to be a fail-proof recipe for how to live
your life.
You are responsible for what you believe in life and the
consequences of your beliefs.
Drama
"Drama" is the intentional, although often
involuntary, acting you do in life, which you
believe is real.
The purpose of drama is to prove to others and
yourself how right you are.
The condition you are in while you are doing your
real life acting is called "victim."

Drama
Being a victim justifies anything the mind cares
to act out, no matter how destructive to yourself or
others.
In the extreme, suicide and murder are dramatic
productions to prove to the world how right the
actor or actress is and how wronged he or she
has been.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 10

Drama
Most people stop short of suicide or murder to prove
how right they are.
Most simply use drama in a way that murders the
experience of life rather than the biological aspect of
life.
I call this process "murdering a relationship" when
it involves another person and "stupidity" when it
involves you alone.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 11

Drama
As it turns out, drama is not a one time thing but
endures as a mode of behavior in a relationship
over long periods of time.
The murder of a relationship is usually
accomplished over a period of time rather than in
one swift blow.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 12

Drama
Nevertheless, there usually, occurs a time in a
dramatized relationship when you actually
experience your murder of the relationship and
justify a giving-up process occurring.
Usually drama doesn't end with the advent of the
giving-up process.
There still remains the issue of proving oneself
right and justified in leaving the relationship.
This requires more drama.
1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 13
Drama
Another aspect to know about drama is that,
although it is intentional, it is not conscious.
To draw an analogy: if we had a programmed
computer before us and pushed the right buttons
to command it to do something that it had been
programmed to do, and all circuits were
functioning, it would do as commanded.
It would have no awareness of what it was
doing; it would simply do it.
So it is with drama.
1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 14
Drama
When you are acting out your drama, you are
a programmed machine with no awareness of
your program.
You are just doing it.
There is an accompanying experience called
"no choice."
Since you are not aware of your program,
there is no choice involved in whether or not
you act out your dramatic program.
1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 15
Drama
You cannot stop yourself.
It floods your consciousness that you are
right and there is no choice about stopping
until the drama is complete.
This process may consume minutes or years
depending on the nature of your program.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 16

Drama
I call drama that requires years to act out "dramatic
script."
All dramatic scripts that require long periods of time are
supported by day to day "soap opera."
It is important to restate that this is an unconscious
process that happens with only partial awareness at
best and, as such, what you say about it is, "That's life."

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 17

Drama
There is nothing to do about what is
unconscious in your life.
By definition, it is beyond rational consideration.
But how did it get there?
It got there in the first place by lies.
You see, when you tell a lie about life, the price
you pay for it is that the part of your life that
contradict the lie goes unconscious.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 18

Drama
Therefore, what there is to do is tell the truth
about that part of your life you are conscious
about and not be concerned about what is
unconscious.
If you do that, then unconsciousness will take
care of itself.
The confrontation you will face as
unconscious material wakes up is that your
mind cannot stay "right."
1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 19
Drama
You can be certain that this will be a large
confrontation, for the mind does not like to be
wrong.
So The Barriers That Your Mind Has Constructed To
Make You Right Are The Same Ones That Separate
You From Satisfying, Nurturing Relationships In
Your Life.
They Are Also The Same Barriers That Keep You
Stuck With "Reasons" Why You Are Not Getting
What You Want Instead Of Actually Having What
You Want.
1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 20
Drama
Perhaps you are wondering exactly what I am referring
to in your life.
Only you can answer that question.
I want you to know that the issues that have come up
on the periphery of your awareness while you read this
book, the ones you have shoved back, those are the
issues that this refers to in your life.
If nothing comes up, you are very unconscious.
It's the stuff you are avoiding.

1/9/2011 PPT BY JAYANTI PATEL 21

Drama
It's that relationship you never quite completed, which
you left hanging.
It's that parent, that child you have never been satisfied
with.
It's that stuff you have attached to the thing you do or
don't do for a living, that job which is torture for you.
You know what applies.
Now, in case you are beginning to feel guilty, read on, for I
want you to know the true meaning of guilt in your life.
Guilt is an essential part of your continuing drama.
