The Research Problem: There is a immense increase in traffic networks as their use is increasing day

by day, this lead to long queues of vehicles. As the cities are getting more popular day by day, the
volume of traffic is also increasing like anything, so long traffic jams and overcrowding on the roads are
the problems faced by everyone these days. This is the problem for many but it is an opportunity for us
to conduct the research. Every problem has some implications. The financial implication of traffic jam is
fuel wasting due to idling of vehicles. Students miss their classes because of long waiting in hours in
traffic congestions. People often work and live in different parts of the city. Places of work are often
located away from residential areas, resulting in the need for people to commute to work. But due to
traffic delays people often miss their important meetings and business deals. The precious time of
people is wasted due to traffic gridlock. The social implication of traffic delays is people are getting
frustrated due to long waiting hours. Pollution has increased tremendously. Moreover, People feel left
out when they reach late somewhere.

Background and justification: Early roadways passed on walkers, animals and basic wheeled
vehicles, for example, wagons etc. after sometime technology took over and car, bike etc become
an important aspect for everyone. Now days everyone have some kind of transport and rush on
roads have increased. Mostly traffic delays happen when there are rush hours like 09:00 am or
2:00 pm etc. another reason of traffic delays is when there are some special occasion like eid,
final match of Pakistan and India, new year eve etc. The justification of traffic delays are
whenever you go out, you will face traffic delays no matter how long it lasts. The tracks are not
swift anymore. Everywhere there is hustling and bustling. Sometimes it feels like there are more
vehicles on the road than the roads can actually accommodate. Long traffic jams result into
traffic stress, which further annoys and infuriate people. These traffic delays are ruining our
mental peace, health, environment, and economy.

Research gap: Research gap is a question or issue which has not been answered properly. A
traffic delay in metro cities is a vast subject for research. Now days, life is full of hustle and
bustle. Everyone is in a rush to move forward. No one likes to wait in the lane and resultantly
extreme traffic congestion sets in, and that’s the main problem. In previous researches,
researchers have answered the questions like urban road traffic etc. but a question that has not
been answered properly is why people don’t stay in their lane even when there is no traffic rush.
Bikers don’t like to move in their lane, overtaking is so common. Our research will help you to
answer such questions.
