Thank You, MBA Summer Missionaries!
Every year, God blesses the Montgomery Baptist
Association with young people who serve the River
Region as summer missionaries. They are always a
“breath of fresh air” to the ministry of human need. These
students, ranging from seniors in high school to master’s
degree graduates, are brilliant in their own right. Yet with
humility and the love of the Lord, they have served
faithfully in challenging conditions.
This year, we had two teams. Donna
Neal Hughes McCullough led the Love Loud Montgomery
Director of Missions team. They served principally at the Matthew
25 building on East Ann. The COVID
pandemic had all but liquidated Forest Park’s volunteer
missionary force, as most are senior adults. These young people
came to the rescue! From this location, as well as many times on
the Rolling Grocery Store bus, they met human need and planted
gospel seed. Also, the three who served with Donna were agents
of grace to the Friendship Mission children, helping through a
Backyard Bible Club.
Savannah Barber and Jeremy Lynch led the Love Loud River
Region team. Their assignment was backyard bible clubs and
food distribution via the Rolling Store. This team of five served in the hot
sun with strategic places in three counties and gave away thousands of
pounds of food to hungry Americans. One example of the food giveaway
was in partnership with Love Loud Lowndes County and their director,
Connie Johnson. It was great to see these young people serve and love
people in Jesus’ name.

The MBA feels it is essential that we give the missionaries a life-changing
task and a life-changing challenge. Therefore, since 2016, we have been
dealing directly with these young people regarding spiritual discipleship
and biblical resolution. David Fleming facilitated the Friday cohorts. Many
pastors and other community leaders led the discussions. We hope that all
eight missionaries came away a more influential Christ-follower as a result
of this summer experience.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our stellar mission team joined
us in May to bring immediate assistance in the absence of senior
adult volunteers. A special thanks to our ALSBOM partners for
assisting us with some of the funds for the mission effort. The
students will conclude their mission with the MBA after two
months of duty on June 26. Please pray for the following as they
depart with our gratitude for a job well done:

with us in May, and left to serve to an already committed
venture with a summer camp. Brandon and Catherine replaced these great
missionaries from Huntingdon College).
