Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech, Diploma in Tool and Die Making
Experience: 5 to 12 years of experience.
Location: Pune

Position Requirement:

 Proven records in a key technology as well as domain experience (Tooling) - Tool expert in
Plastics Headlamps, Tail lamps, HVAC etc)
 Expert in Molding Tooling and process, Tool design reviews and approvals, Line equipment and
Domain expertise of relevant parts.
 Expert in general project management / work, product development and troubleshooting
processes.
 Experience in assessment and evaluating suppliers based on their resource application,
technical capability, standards as well as the quality of their parts.
 Expert with capacity studies and verification.
 Steering Expertise (Coordination - Collaborative approach)

Purpose of Position:

 As domain expert for the development of critical parts, manages the development of part with
supplier from the design release stage to SOP+ 3 Months, ensuring the availability of parts during
the launch of the project. Accountable for Tool / SPM / Line Equipment's at Suppliers end,
tracking of the project. Responsible for the Capacities and Readiness of supplier production
activities.

Tasks:

a. Program Management and Development


1. Project management and planning of Pre-defined purchase parts.
2. Initiation and accomplishment of timeline and commitments.
3. Producibility check( Tool Design Reviews and Approval , PFMEA,Raw Material suitability,
Feasibility, Simulation check, process planning, Capacity Planning)
4. Tool Design For Manufacturing reviews, Method Plan review, (Technical Leader for Tools and
Manufacturing equipment's)
5. Ensuring Timely solutions for Technical problems, Manufacturability and Development.
6. Coordination of the part Development activities. Continuous reviews with the suppliers during
development process to ensure
7. Supplier meets VW milestones targets (Quantity and Quality). Involves extensive travel at
Supplier sites
8. To be an interface between supplier and VW for any Technical and Program related issues
9. To make sure Production readiness at suppliers end before SOP
10. Continuous coordination with Purchase Projects Management and SRM Global teams for
development related issues and status updates
11. Tool and Equipment Developments, Tracking, Transfer and Installation at Series Location
12. Management reporting and escalation for any project related issues.
13. QMS Implementation in the respective area.
b. Support Activities
1. Technical Service Provider to Direct Purchase
- Tooling and machine breakdown, Line stoppage, Transfer of tools due to Supplier change
- Capacity check and enhancement for increased demands
- Supplier Qualification/Up gradation to improve the suppliers who are in Quality escalation
2. Support for Project Feasibility and Timeline activities to PPM
3. Studying other OEM's products, Benchmarking the investment factors.
4. Supporting other VW group (Regions / Brands) members on Onsite reviews and Update -
Based on support request.
