This past Sunday’s Patriotic Service was amazing! The
choir and orchestra singing different parts and playing
instruments at various times and then being layered
together so that safe distancing guidelines might be met
was intensive and well done. Thank you Lance, Eddy,
choir, orchestra and tech crew for making all of this
possible!
The message from Bro. Jeff Sunday on prayer from 2
Chronicles 7:14 was timely and appropriate as we
approach our 244th Independence Day. Solomon had
successfully completed the building of the temple in
Jerusalem when the Lord appeared to him at night and
said, “I have heard your prayer and have chosen this
place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. If I shut up the
heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the
locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among
My people, and My people who are called by My name
humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn
from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will
forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Prayer was essential prior to COVID-19 and will be
essential when this pandemic is in the dust bin of history.
God’s people are called to pray. We are to never stop
praying (1 Thessalonians 5:17.)
I want to remind all our men to go to Eastmont.org and
find our “Wednesday Night Fights” prayer guide and let’s
pray together from our homes at 10:00 pm every
Wednesday night and let’s all be encouraged to continue
our Thursday fasting and prayer as we pray for our pastor
search committee, our nation and her leaders, all world
leaders, our military, first responders, and our
missionaries. And let us all be “Great Commission”
disciples!

Pastor Search Update ….
Thank you for continuing to pray for our committee. Over
the past few months our committee has continued to
meet weekly via Zoom. While our state and country are
continuing to climb out of the COVID-19 pandemic, we
have heard from multiple potential candidates that are
unwilling to consider leaving their current congregations
during this unstable time.
We are continuing to talk with potential candidates and
ask that you continue to pray that the Lord will guide us
and provide the next pastor to lead Eastmont.

Sunday Worship Services
9:00 am & 11:00 am services in the worship center. Go to
eastmont.org to make a reservation for your household
or call the church office. The 11:00 am service will be live
streamed at eastmont.org/live.

Prayer and Fasting
Join us in fasting from sunrise to sunset on Thursdays.
During the time that you would usually eat, pray for our
faith family, our nation, and all those impacted by the
COVID-19 virus.
Caring for One Another
If you are a church member or know of a church member
requiring assistance with essential needs such as grocery
pick up, pharmacy pick up, financial needs or any other
essential needs please call the church office and / or send
an email to ebc@eastmont.org.

Children’s Ministry
BOLT VBS was.a huge success and lots of fun for our
families. If you have not had the chance to do your family
VBS, remember it is available all summer long. We are
loving the photos so please keep posting on
252@Eastmont and First Look @ Eastmont.
Even though we couldn't meet in person, we still had a
mission project. All proceeds will go to Emilyn Meyer, our
very own Eastmont Missionary to Auburn University
students and surrounding areas. You can donate by
bringing your offering, clearly marked for Emilyn, by the
church office, M-F 10:00 am - 3:00 pm or by dropping it in
the offering plate on Sunday morning. Continue to pray
for us as we try to think of ways to minister to our kids

EBC STUDENT MINISTRY ONLINE
Sunday morning LifeGroups continue to meet by ZOOM
at 9:30 am and Wednesday evening messages are
streamed from Cleve's Facebook and Instagram accounts
at 6:15 pm. Make certain your student is joining in each
week.
FAMILY BIBLE STUDY
We host ZOOM calls Thursdays at 3:30 p.m. for those
wanting to discuss the current Scripture emphasis. We
begin the Gospel of Mark Thursday, July 9.
EBC STUDENTS UPRISING
July 20-24 will be a unique week for Eastmont
Students. Each evening consists of various fun activities,
in large and small groups, centered around a Bible study
titled UPRISING. This will also be an opportunity for our
new 7th Graders to officially "move up" and join the
student ministry family. Sign-ups and details will be
posted soon.

Missions Yard Sales
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the fall yard
sale. Please continue praying for the people of Guatemala
and consider making a donation to be used for relief
efforts.

be used by the Montgomery Baptist Association. Drop off

Music & Worship Ministries

Eastmont Music and Worship Ministries annual God &
Country - COVID Edition, is in the books and was such a
blessing! Our talented and faithful tech team,
instrumentalists, choir and leaders worked hard to make
this service a powerful time of worship. THANK YOU
again to all of our retired and active military for
safeguarding our great nation. We are grateful for your
service and sacrifice!
OUTDOOR MUSIC EVENT
July 19 @ 6pm. Come enjoy an outdoor church-wide
music event on the front steps of the Worship Center.
This will be a great opportunity to safely fellowship as a
community of faith enjoying music by many of our
talented Eastmont vocalists with a patriotic emphasis.
Senior Adult Ministry

I wanted to update everyone on the events and
programs for the Senior Adult Ministry. Most know that
we have canceled our big trip in September to Maine.
Our Forever Young programs that meet on the 3rd
Tuesday of each month have been suspended until
further notice. COVID-19 safety restrictions and face
masks being required in the city of Montgomery makes
regathering indoors very challenging. Stay updated on
our response to COVID-19 as well as our policy on
regathering at eastmont.org. You can also pre-register
for worship on the website.
Let’s have some Good News!!!!
I would like to offer our Senior Adults an opportunity for
a Parking Lot Picnic with a boxed lunch & bottled water.
If you would like to come out and picnic in the back
parking lot on July 22, 2020 at 11:00 am there are a few
steps you need to know or do:
• Call the church office (277-6300) and make a
reservation with Karen Bush. At that time you can
select your preference on your box lunch.
• Bring your own chair and maintain 6 feet social
distancing between you and your neighbor.
• We will gather in the back parking lot between
entrance A & B.
• Entertainment will be Eastmont’s own Picking,
Grinning & Singing group.
• Deadline to make reservations is July 15th.
If you prefer to take your lunch home, that is ok, but you
still need to make a reservation through the church
office.
