Como el IIEF había sido diseñado para su uso en ensayos clínicos, Rosen
pensó en la posibilidad de crear una versión abreviada del mismo, que pudiera
ser utilizada, fundamentalmente como método de screening, en el ámbito clínico.
De esta idea surgió, en 1.999, el IIEF-5, cuya puesta de largo se llevó a cabo en
un amplio ensayo clínico que investigaba la seguridad y eficacia de Viagra , bajo
el patrocinio de Laboratorios Pfizer.
INTERPRETACIÓN
La puntuación total del test oscila entre 5-25 puntos. Los autores
establecen un punto de corte optimo en 21, clasificando la DE en cinco
categorías: DE severa (puntuación 5-7), DE moderada (8-11), DE media a
moderada (12-16), DE media (17-21), no DE (22-25).
PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS
Los autores establecen un punto de corte optimo en 21, para dicho punto,
la sensibilidad obtenida fue de 0.98, la especificidad de 0.88, el VPP 0.89, el
VPN 0.98, la Kappa de 0.85 (con un IC del 95%).
