Preface
Exclusion of Warranty
We have checked the contents of the manual for compliance with the hardware
and software components described. Certain differences can, however, not be
excluded and we cannot guarantee full compliance in every detail. The information
contained in this manual is reviewed regularly and necessary corrections and
alterations are always included in subsequent editions. We welcome any
suggestions for improvements.
Introduction
SIPORT is a powerful and flexible programmable control system for integrated
building management.
It consists of the following main subsystems:
SIPORT Access Control / Access control / Time Recording
Time Recording
SIPORT Time Recording/SAP Time recording in conjunction with a higher-level SAP R/3 system
SIPORT Configuration Configuration application for all SIPORT Modules
SIPORT VAS ID card editing system

SIPORT Display Presence display
SIPORT Profile Management Extended access profile management

When an interface to another subsystem is described, reference is made to the
operator manual for the relevant software package (e.g. Operator Manual for the
SIPORT Host interface).

Preface
About this manual

This manual describes the installation of the access control system SIPORT
Access and the time recording system SIPORT Time Recording. By default, the
manual refers to SIPORT Access. The same applies to SIPORT Time Recording.
Conventions
To aid understanding, a number of typographic conventions are used in this
manual:
Bold font Is used to show the names of buttons, toolbars, menus, commands and
windows.
Example:
"Please click OK in the Save dialog."
Italic font Is used for the names of windows and dialogs.
Example:
"Please click OK in the Save dialog."
Indicates keys on the keyboard. These characters describe an action
performed by keyboard. Keys connected with a "+" must be pressed at
the same time.
Example:
+
"Press + on the keyboard."

2 Installation of SIPORT
Before you start

z Make sure that your system meets the system requirements for the SIPORT
software (see chapter 1 System Requirements).
z Ensure that the software protection (dongle) supplied is plugged onto the parallel
(printer) or USB port of your computer
If a printer is already connected, simply connect the dongle between the printer
port and the printer cable. Make sure the TCP/IP network protocol is installed on
your PC.
z Close all Windows applications.
2.1 Installation of SIPORT Server

Proceed as follows:
1. Start Windows.
2. Insert the SIPORT installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.
Î The following window will appear:
If this window does not appear, select Run... in the Windows Start menu, select the setup.exe on the
CD and click OK.
3. Specify the language in which SIPORT will be installed on click OK.

Î The installation wizard, which will guide you through the installation of
SIPORT, is now started. After a brief initialisation phase, the following window
appears:
4. Click Next.
5. Select “SIPORT Access Server” and click Next.

6. Select a folder where the setup files will be installed and click Next.
Î If no Acrobat Reader is installed on your system, the following window will
appear:
You need the Acrobat Reader to display the help files which are integrated in the SIPORT software
7. If you want to install Acrobat Reader, click Yes, otherwise click No.

8. Select the components to be installed.

SIPORT Kernel Installs the background programs for communication with the
peripherals.
We recommend that you accept the default selection.
9. Click Next to continue.

10. Select a database type.

Î The installation is now started.

When the installation is complete, the following window will appear:
11. Click Finish.

12. Choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” and click OK.
Î Your computer will be restarted. After that the following window will appear:
13. Select your language and click Next.

14. Select the name of the SQL server in the field Database server.
Database server Select the name of the SQL server

Database name Enter the name of the database
Option “Would you create the database? “ Choose if you want to create the database.
Option “Generate only script” Choose if you want to generate a script for creating a
database.
15. Click Next.
16. Now select how you want to connect to the database.

In the field Database path, enter the location where the database will be
created.
17. Click Next.

18. Select a login mode (see following table).

SIPORT User administration is managed in SIPORT independently of the
Windows operating system. Any default and user-defined user rights
set up through the operating system or the domain are ignored.
Windows The user administration of the Windows operating system is used. The
security restrictions for the operating system and the domain apply.
Check only the group Only the group membership will be checked without password
membership checking.
Smartcard Authentification You can login with your smart card.
LDAP The user administration of a LDAP server is used. The security
restrictions for the operating system and the domain apply.
19. Click Next.
The following window will appear if you have chosen Windows.

If you have chosen SIPORT or LDAP, go on reading at step 22.

20. In the fields Domain and Server, enter where the user groups will be created.
If the field Server is empty, the domain controller will be used.
In the field SIPORT groups, select which user groups are allowed to use the
corresponding SIPORT applications. With the button Add, you can create
new user groups.
21. Click Next.
22. Enter the passwords for the users.

If you don’t want to create these users, deselect the option Create default
users.
23. Click Next.
24. Enter the data and click Next.

Î A summary will appear:
25. Click Install.

Î When the installation is finished, the following message will appear:

Î SIPORT Configuration will appear:
27. Select Database / Database update and click on the button Check.

28. Exit SIPORT Configuration.
Î The installation is finished.

2.2 Installation of SIPORT Workstation

To install a SIPORT workstation, proceed as follows.
1. Start Windows.
If this window does not appear, select Run... in the Windows Start menu, select the setup.exe on the
CD and click OK.
3. Specify the language in which SIPORT will be installed on and click OK.
Î The installation wizard, which will guide you through the installation of
SIPORT, is now started.
Î After a brief initialisation phase, the SIPORT Welcome dialog appears:

When the installation is complete, the following window will appear:

Î Your computer will be restarted now. After that the following window will
appear:

12. Select the database server SIPORT_SERVER and click Next.

13. Select the authentification mode and enter the user name and password of
the database administrator.
14. Click Next.
The fields Client language and Kernel Path are only displayed if Kernel Configuration was chosen at
the setup.
15. Enter the data and click Next.

Î When the installation is finished, the following message will appear:

2.3 Installation of SIPORT VAS Standalone

To install SIPORT VAS stand alone, install SIPORT server and select only VAS
and Queuing Service.
See section 2.1 Installation of SIPORT Server
2.4 Installation of ELD (Electronic Locking Devices)
This installation step will be performed only if the Electronic Locking Devices component was activated
during the installation of SIPORT. See section 2.1, step 8.
2.4.1 Installation of software for PDA (Codic Card)
The following window appears after the SIPORT installation:

2. Select a folder where the files will be stored and click Next.
3. Enter your password and click Enter.

4. Re-enter your password to confirm and click Enter.

2.4.2 Installation of XS-Manager (Dorma)
A prerequisite for installing XS Manager is that the PDA HotSync processes are fully installed (see the
manual of your PDA). The PDA must be connected to the installation computer.
1. Click Next.

2. To install the XS-Manager you have to accept the license agreement.

Click Yes.
3. Select a folder where the files will be stored and click Next.
Î The XS-Manager will be installed.

4. Add the XS Manager files to be installed to a user account of your PDA’s

Quick Install process and click OK.
The files will be transferred to the PDA or to the memory extension card next
time you HotSync.
Î The files to be transferred are displayed directly in the Quick Install dialogue:
5. Now start HotSync on your PDA. The HotSync process will transfer the XS
Manager components to your PDA.

Î The installation is finished. The following window appears:
6. Select Yes to restart your computer and click Finish.

3 Configuration of SIPORT
After a SIPORT application has been installed, the relevant configurations must be
set and a database update must be made in SIPORT Configuration.
Please refer to the SIPORT Configuration user manual.
3.1 User Management

3 users are created during installation:
User name Password

User 1 abc As entered during installation
User 2 Admin_Access
User 3 Admin_VAS
Use these 3 users for your first login.
When you have finished configuring SIPORT, you can change or delete these user names.
The only exception is user Admin-Access, which can not be deleted. You can, however, rename it.
For further information see user manual SIPORT Access.

4.1 Update of SIPORT Server
Before updating:
z Back up all your SIPORT data.
1. Start Windows.
2. Insert the SIPORT installation CD into the PC’s CD-ROM drive.
3. Select your language and click OK.

Î After a short initialization phase, the installation wizard will appear:

Î The computer is restarted. Log in. After that the following window will appear:

1. In the Windows Start menu, click Start / Control panel / Add or remove
programs / SIPORT and click the button Change / Remove.
2. Select the option Remove and click Next.

3. Click Yes.

5. Enter the user name and password of the database administrator to remove
the database.
6. Click Next.
7. Click Yes.
Î SIPORT will now configure your new software installation. After that the
following window will appear:
8. Click Finish.

9. It is recommended to select “Yes, I want to restart my computer now“ and

click OK.
Î SIPORT is removed.

Before you start
