FEEDING THE HUNGRY
For some 20 years, a group of Christian volunteers,
including members of St. Edward the Confessor and
San Felipe de Jesus, have been serving meals to the
homeless and working poor in the Capistrano Beach
area. In 2006 the group incorporated under the name
of Welcome INN (Interfaith Needs Network), a non-
profit entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.

Last Reminder! There are still openings for our
annual retreat. The men of our parish will make
their annual retreat In Sierra Madre at the Mater
Dolorosa retreat house. In the quiet setting of the
San Gabriel foothills, the Passionist staff will guide
you to a renewal for your faith and a new perspec-
tive on your life. The Center provides a private
room and bath, (double rooms are available on re-
quest). Delicious meals, beautifully landscaped
grounds, outdoor Stations of the Cross, altogether
lend themselves to the spiritual benefits of this silent,
preached retreat. Don’t miss this chance to renew
yourself spiritually.
A non-refundable deposit of $50 is all it takes
to complete your registration. The total re-
quested donation for the retreat is $180 including
the deposit, but no one is ever turned away for
lack of funds. A deposit can be by check made out
to Mater Dolorosa or by MasterCard or Visa credit
card. You can’t afford not to join us. Pamphlets are

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

"I was ill and you comforted me, in prison and

you came to visit me." (Matt 25:36) One of
the members of our SVDP Conference here
at St. Edward the Confessor, Della Zoeller, deserves our
praise for responding to the second part of this Biblical
writing. Della visits Chino State Prison every Saturday
for about an hour & a half participating in their commun-
ion service. In addition, Della visits the women prisoners
at Musick penal farm in Irvine once a month participating
in their bible study and prayer sessions.
Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00 p.m. in the Church
Meeting Room.

EVENING IN PRAYER TO END ABORTION

Holy Family Cathedral
In observance of the Supreme Court decision Roe
v. Wade Bishop Cirilo Flores and members of
Clergy will offer an evening of prayer to end abor-
tion. The event will take place on Saturday January
22, 2011 at Holy Family Cathedral at 7 p.m. Recep-
tion will follow in the Parish Hall.
