Self Effacement bestows Divinity

The primary goal of human life is to know the Creator and develop affinity with Him
enshrining Him in our heart. Spirituality is nothing but man’s relationship with God in everyday
life.

“ I f y o u k n o w G o d w i t h i n t h i s l i f e , t h e n i t i s g o o d , B u t i f y o u d o n o t know
Him, then it will be your greatest loss.” - (Kena Upanishad)

Man without God is like a fish without water, a tree without the fruit, a flower
without the fragrance and a bride (soul) without the Bridegroom (Supreme Being). The
human life is incomplete, b a r r e n a n d s h e e r w a s t e i f o n e d o e s n o t e n d e a v o r t o
k n o w a n d m er g e w i t h G o d .

The Guru Granth Sahib states: Without Satguru there is no understanding of God.
Without True knowledge of God it is impossible to attain salvation.

“A Guru’s disciple (Guru Sikh) is the one who obeys what the Master says. He always
moulds himself in such a way that he treats every word of the Master as a command which he
obeys with the full sense of submission. In fact, he becomes identified with his obedience
towards the Master”- Nirankari Baba Ji
As Bulle Shah said:

Hasti Chhad Ke Vekh Bulley Shah

Jidaa Naam Jape To Tu Oh Hain

(That only after total surrender you can become one with God. As long as the feeling of duality
is there you cannot achieve Oneness.)

Quoting the word ‘Godfidence’, Satguru Mata Ji said, ‘God owes us nothing but He gives
us everything.’ Our attitude should be ‘Thee and Thine’ and not ‘me and mine’. We must
earnestly pray, ‘Empty me of me so that I may be filled just with you. You are the potter and I
am the clay. Make me the way you want me to be.  Change my heart and make it true so that I
may be like you.’
Meeting Satguru is our extreme good fortune that fills the entire void in our life. On
seeking refuge of the True Master, our personal relationship with Almighty Nirankar
begins. The very decision to surrender totally is transforming and crystallizing. The more we
offer ourselves and more grateful we become, the more we experience His grace. Serving the
Living True Master is the most exalted good karma. True devotion is being aware of, all the
time, that one is ‘moving and acting’ or simply ‘being’ in God. We shall realize life's true value
by developing strong bond with the Almighty and giving paramount importance to Him.

“Stronger the faith in Satguru, stronger is the relation between Nirankar and us.”

Baba Avtar Singh Ji in the Sampuran Avtar Bani stated,

"It is with the grace of my True Master that I perceive the Formless One- Nirankar.
Ever since I surrendered to Him, Nirankar has become my own. ''

Satguru explains that true happiness does not come by the acquisition of worldly assets,
i.e., wealth, power, honour and fame. It comes by the acquisition of the wealth of ‘Nam’(God’s
name). In devotion you will have to invest body, mind and money. ‘Nothing is mine, everything
is Yours. I lose nothing by giving away, what is not mine.’

The Commandment in the Bible is: Thou shall love the Lord, the God with all Thy
heart, with all Thy mind and with all Thy soul.

You offer your body, mind and all possessions to God saying, ‘I falsely imagined till now
that all these which are yours were mine. Now with Satguru’s grace I realize they are yours. I
shall no more act as if they are mine’. This knowledge that there is nothing but God or Self,
that ‘I’ or ‘mine’ do not exist and that only the Self exists, is Jnana (knowledge).

Knowing the Truth sets us free. We embark on truthful living

acknowledging God’s grace every minute. God realization ignites the necessary willingness and
conditions for surrender that take you from prison to palace, from fear to love, from bondage to
freedom, limitation to happiness and fulfillment. We feel love, peace, contentment, beauty,
gratitude, awe, and joy. When we offer ourselves unconditionally to Satguru, we do not become
the surrendered – The True Master makes us a part of Him. Surrender leads to gaining
something, not losing something. We perform our work with total devotion and dedication without
any expectation of reward and by surrendering the fruits of our actions to God. We know that we
are not the doer, the doer is God. We submit to the Will of God and leave everything in His hands.
Adi Shankaracharya in the book Sadhana Panchakam stated, ‘The feeling that ‘I am
doing’ is bondage. If the responsibility is thrown on the higher power things will go on of their
own accord. If the actions of the mind, speech and body are merged with God, all the burdens
of our life will be on Him’.
As Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji used to say, “When somebody offers a gift of food for the
congregation, someone is given the joy of distributing it. If the distributor is thinking, he is
the provider, he is mistaken. He is only the distributor. Provider is somebody else. ”

‘Saints are never proud, if ever they are proud of anything is the Master, because
he is the bestower of everything’ - Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh

In God’s eyes ‘The humblest is the highest, the lowest is exalted. We can merge with the
Supreme only if we bow down, offer ourselves and be modest. By linking with the Supreme,
our vision widens, outlook broadens our deeds become noble and our words become sublime.
A true devotee blessed with the love of God is gifted with 3 attributes: River like generosity,
Sun like bounty and Earth like hospitality. We imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, humility and
tolerance. Our life becomes a model for others.’

The greatest gift of God to you, O’ man, is this beautiful body; but you should consider it as a
trust by God, and nothing belongs to you. It is the mind, influenced by whom, you consider
everything as yours. While making use of all assets, if you will surrender to the Divine will; you
shall not be troubled with the disease of ego, and will always remain happy.
- Sampuran Avatar Bani

The First pledge makes us understand and accept wholeheartedly that all physical,
mental and material possessions belong to God and indeed are Gifts from God and we are a
mere trustee and must use them without feeling of ownership, greed, passion, false pride,
superiority complex and to vow to use these gifts for the betterment of mankind. It is entirely
the Will of God to enhance, curtail or withdraw these assets from anyone, at any moment.
Attachment to that which does not belong to one, in reality, causes suffering.

This pledge relieves us of all worries and distress caused by the ups and downs of life.
Having surrendered oneself to God, we rise above the feelings of pleasure and pain, gain and
loss, health and ailment, success or failure, respect or disrespect. Our mind possesses
equanimity under all circumstances. By living up to this Golden Principle, we can lead an
ideal, simple and balanced life both materially and spiritually which ensures individual
development as well as the welfare and progress of the society as a
whole.Asthe distance between man and God goes, the distance between man and man ceases to
exist. Thus, we are to be on the path of service. ALL TO GIVE ALL FOR ALL. We are now
focused on giving rather than receiving.

In the end, just three things matter: How well we have lived; how well we have loved and how
well we have learned to let go”
As  Satguru Mataji says,  "What you are is Lord Almighty's gift to you. What you become
is your gift to the True Master."

The purpose of human life is to be a friend of the self. We must go beyond narrow
interests and selfishness. We must serve our higher purpose leading life as a sacrifice and
offering to God by radiating his benevolence and divine qualities, manifesting God in our
being and experience Oneness amidst duality and diversity. This is the Divine way of living.
Let us follow the directives of the True Master, connect with Truth, live a self-awakened life
and lend true meaning to our life.

Beloved Mata Ji, Your Love and your Grace is what I depend on. I do not doubt your
mercy. But I doubt myself. So make my efforts manifest and give me the strength so that my
faith in You never diminishes.
