Final Task

a. What is the importance of sports in the five dimensions of health (physical, mental,
emotional, spiritual and social)?
 Physical
o sports help to reduce body fat or controls your body weight. Sports allow you
will gain the satisfaction of developing your fitness and skills. Sports can help
you fight depression and anxiety. Sports allows you to challenge yourself and set
goals.
 Mental
o  Whether you are playing sports, working out at a gym, or taking a brisk walk,
physical activity triggers brain chemicals that make you feel happier and more
relaxed, Sport improves your mood, Sport improves your mood,  improves sleep
habits, helps you maintain a healthy weight, and  boosts your self-confidence.
 Emotional
o Affect the brain’s physiology and is associated with improved attention and
better information processing, storage, and retrieval.
o Lead to short-term relaxation, enhanced creativity and memory, better mood, and
improved problem-solving abilities.
o Provide opportunities to engage in positive relationships with adults and to
safely navigate between right and wrong, thus helping build character.
o Helps to learn emotional control, the value of teamwork, and the ability to show
initiative, and these skills transfer to academics, family life, and eventually the
work environment.
o Give more confidence and self-esteem, making them less likely to be
overweight, depressed, smoke, use illegal drugs, or have teen pregnancies
 Spiritual
o Sport can increase spiritual awareness in so far as athletes embrace the tension
between renewal and failure from moment to moment, which makes sport a
ritual activity. Sports are a human pleasure and can be a way to get to know God
better, as long as we do not get overly attached to the wins and losses, the glitter
and the fame.
 Social
o It develops many of the social skills that needs for life. Sport teaches to
cooperate, to be less selfish, and to listen to other. It also gives a sense of
belonging. It helps to make new friends and builds social circle.

b. How do sports unite the world?


 In a world where religion and race cause rivalry, hate, and war, sport brings us something
that nothing else even comes close in giving us, peace and unity. Whether it is local,
national or worldwide we all come together to socialize and appreciate sport, as well as
the enjoyment and excitement we get from it. Sport creates teamwork and builds
similarity by bringing people to one place, which makes us work together. This also
creates friendships between nations. Countries try to be friendly to other countries to
create a better and more enjoyable sporting events. Nations bond and help each other due
to sport especially the World Cup which is a way for countries to show off their support
for the teams and the unification of people.
