In Summer 2011, Steria France is to move to the first Green Office® building by Bouygues Immobilier,
located in Meudon.
This is the first large-scale energy-positive office building to be commissioned in France. Olivier Vallet,
Senior Executive Vice President and CEO France, in charge of Group Innovation Policy and the supervision
of Scandinavia and Belux markets, explained the reasons behind this decision: “To help our customers
contribute to a more sustainable development, Steria is devising new collaborative models which embody
our commitment to being a socially responsible company. More than any amount of speeches, the
decision to use this building demonstrates our desire to put our convictions into practice. I am especially
proud to be able to offer our employees in the Ile-de-France region the opportunity to work in such a
high-quality environment.”
Green Office® Meudon’s bioclimatic architecture enhances user comfort, featuring healthy materials,
natural light, and pleasant workspaces. The facility also offers natural temperature regulation which does
not require air conditioning, as well as acoustic comfort provided by sound-proofing panels for each office
unit. To maximise user comfort, each employee can control lighting, blinds, heating and fans – and benefit
from a personalised energy use report, encouraging environmentally responsible behaviour.
Two key installations enable the building to produce more renewable energy than it uses over the course
of a year:
- a solar farm comprising 4,200m² worth of panels, with an annual capacity of 450,000 kW/h;
- a vegetable oil cogeneration plant which provides both electricity and heat.
Green Office® Meudon boasts dual environmental certification: HQE® and BREEAM Europe Office 2008, with
an “excellent” rating. It has also been awarded the “BBC Effinergie” label pending certification under the
BEPOS standard, which is currently being defined.
“The fact that Steria France has chosen our Green Office® building in Meudon demonstrates the relevance
of our concept, which is the result of firmly held convictions. This new milestone will enable us to take a
step further in energy and environmental optimisation as we embark on a genuine partnership with a
prime user,” announced François Bertière, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Immobilier.
