Our People from abroad

Workshop on Ethics in practice

BDO had the great pleasure to welcome ICAEW speaker, David Stevens (ICAEW Integrity and Law Manager) for a workshop on Ethics in practice -
International developments, public interest guidance and ethics in social media.
Mr Stevens is responsible for ICAEW’s ethics policy and guidance. He manages ICAEW’s Anti Money Laundering Committee, making representations to
the UK government on economic crime matters and producing guidance in this area. He also manages the ICAEW Ethics Standards Committee, making
technical responses to International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA) on changes to the Code of Ethics for accountants, in addition to the
production of articles, guidance and thought leadership.

The workshop provided a great platform for our Partners, Managers and Assistant Managers to improve their already extensive knowledge on ethics.

Celebrating Mandela Day

Our second action has been the wall painting of a nursery school in Tranquebar in the City of Port Louis. The whole outside school’s panel
has undergone a modern relooking with the expertise of some staff from BDO. Lots of gifts have also been distributed to the children and
they were all delighted.
