1 INTRODUCTION
Yapi Merkezi founded in 1965, aims ‘’to create and to realize construction
projects that will serve humanity by creating happiness environment. As the
first and largest company of Yapi Merkezi group Yapi Merkezi
construction and industry inc., in half century history , has realized the
design and construction of a wide variety of building , heavy construction
and rail way projects both in turkey and abroad , especially in united Arab
Emirate, Saudi Arabia , sudan , Algeria, morocco and Ethiopia. Since Yapi
Merkezi worldwide company, it has many products and services throughout
the world some of them are

This company has so many customers throughout the world including all
private and government sectors some of them are I. the government II .sub
contract companies III. Consulting companies and companies which produce or
import materials in addition to this customer they also have indirect and direct
users

2 OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT

General objective

 To serve the democratic republic of Ethiopian people through the rail


way transportation.
 To transfer technology and experience to the people of Ethiopia.
 To make reasonable profit from the project.
 To create job opportunity from the mega project
 To connect Djibouti Awash woldia and mekele which has significance
importance to the country

4. Definition of the projects(station, aspects of social economical & political


benefits and how will carry out the project to somehow support the information
with the organizational structure including net working system they use.

The Awash Kombolcha Hara Gegeya rail way project is the project which
signed contractual agreement between the democratic republic of Ethiopian
government and known Turkish company yapi merkezi to build 391 km in the first
phase out of 2400km totally. This project requires 1.7 billon dollar and 6200
workers out of this 4000 workers are local people.

The project has totally ten(10) working station which six of them are intermediate
over the area of 300m2 station and also eight substation for supplying electrical ,
Due to these reason the socio-political aspects the project is significant importance
for both the Ethiopian government and the company .

Generally they carry out the project by using of simple Gahnt chart and Ti loss time distance method.

5. selecting of the projects

The yapi merkezi select this project based on the facts that the organization mainly working on
construction that is rail way since that they are well experienced.

 stability of the country and other reason initiate us to select this project
6. managing of the project :-as we try to explain on our definition part. the yapi
merkezi manage this project by series follow up and controlled daily report from
chief executive to bottom place operators. the project uses the resources from the
supplier /commercial suppliers from Italy ,Denmark , Belgium and other European
countries by export credit.

as we said earlier this project is controlled by daily report from operator to
chief executive ............................. take also from the hand out some idea ......
8. The investment of the project is about 1.7 billon dollar to construct 391km for
the first phase from totally 2400km. European financiers for the financing of the
project. among this 15% is covered by the local government where the rest are
from the financer. which 85% is European financers.
The duration of the project is 42 month (3.5years) for first contract agreement
but know the time extended to 66 month (5.5 years), by know the performance of
the project is 73% . By this project 36 trains will operate on the rail way 60% which
will be used carry loads and the rest will be used transparent passenger .
