Guideline to use Samsung USB LTE dongle  
1. Setup Laptop  

A. First of all, you should uninstall the current device driver if you have.  
See Procedure to uninstall drivers on Windows XP.  

B. Uninstall the current Samsung 4G Connection Manager if you have.  

C. Now you can install the device driver as described in Procedure to install drivers on 
Windows XP.   And you can install new Samsung 4G Connection Manager.

Device driver: 5.24.0.2 
Samsung 4G Connection Manager: v4.78 

D. Change setting in Samsung 4G Connection Manager. 

Launch Samsung 4G Connection Manager and uncheck “Start program automatically 
after the modem is connected” option from setting.  

And close Samsung 4G Connection Manager.

2. Plug in Samsung USB dongle. And wait for 30 sec.  
(It takes some time to detect network adapter from laptop.) 

* Note:  
SIM card should be inserted. 
If “Quartus” and “A307” is detected as CD‐ROM, please eject both. And wait 30 sec. 

3. Launch Samsung 4G Connection Manager.

Procedure to install drivers on Windows XP  
1. First, please plug in the Samsung Dongle.  
You might see some New Hardware found popup windows. Don’t start this pop‐up yet.  
You will also see ATT Communication Manager Setup wizard as shown below. Please click on 
cancel button and do not install the application. 

Note:  
1. Make sure you uninstalled the previous driver. 
(Execute \i386\SSFUninstall.exe to uninstall the old driver.) 

2. If you have “Quartus” and “A307” CD‐ROM drive, please eject both.  
Open My computer. Right‐click and select ‘eject’ for “Quartus” and “A307” drive.

2. Execute the Setup.exe file in the Driver folder.               
 

 
 
3. Click on Install button. You will see Software Installation pop‐up window as shown below, please 
click on “Continue Anyway”. Please repeat this step till this “Continue Anyway “message goes 
away.

4. After step 3 and 4, you will see Software Installed Successful message. Click OK.  

5. After the installation is successful, you can start New Hardware found popup windows. Please 
follow the steps below.  
a) Select “Yes, this time only” and Click ‘Next’.

b) Select Option 1 “Install the software automatically (Recommended) “and click ‘Next’. 

 
 
 
c) Click on Continue Anyway.

d) If you don’t see New Hardware found popup windows, you can find unknown

6. After repeating steps 5a to 5c for Multiple pops up. There will be no items to install and you 
won’t see anything in Other Devices. This completes the driver installation procedure. Device 
Manager should look as shown below.

Procedure to uninstall drivers on Windows XP 
1. Please execute the SSFUninstall.exe file in the i386 folder within the Driver folder as shown 
below. 
(Don’t use Control panel to uninstall the driver.) 

 
 
2. Click on the uninstall button and the driver will be uninstalled from the computer.

3. After uninstalling you will get the Driver successfully uninstalled popup window as shown below. 

 
 
4. You will be asked to restart the computer after the uninstallation. Please restart the computer 
for the changes to take effect.

Procedure to install drivers on Windows Vista 
1. First, please plug in the Samsung Dongle.  
You might see some New Hardware found popup windows. Don’t start this pop‐up yet.  
You will also see ATT Communication Manager Setup wizard as shown below. Please click on 
cancel button and do not install the application. 

Note:  
1. Make sure you uninstalled the previous driver. 
(Execute \i386\SSFUninstall.exe to uninstall the old driver.) 

2. If you have “Quartus” and “A307” CD‐ROM drive, please eject both.  
Open My computer. Right‐click and select ‘eject’ for “Quartus” and “A307” drive.

5.  During the installation of the driver ‘Windows Security’ pop‐up will prompt for several times. 
Select ‘Install this driver software anyway’ from windows security options. 
 

 
 
6.  You should see “Driver installed successfully”.

7.  After the installation is successful, you can start New Hardware found popup windows if you 
have.  
 
 
 
8. Please check device manager. You should have Samsung network adapters as follows.

If not, please update driver for unknown device or device with yellow mark.  
 Right click‐>update driver 

a. For automatic installation select “Search automatically for updated driver software”. 

 
 
b. If the automatic installation is not installed properly, select “Browse my computer for driver 
 
software”.  And specify the path where the driver installation folder located‐>Next”.

Procedure to uninstall drivers on Windows Vista

Procedure to uninstall drivers on Windows 7 
1. Please execute the SSFUninstall.exe file in the i386 folder within the Driver folder as shown 
below. 
(Don’t use Control panel to uninstall the driver.) 
 
2. Restart PC after un‐installation is completed.

Troubleshooting Tips  
1. If the automatic installation is not installed properly, select manual installation and specify the 
path where the driver installation folder located.  Please follow below steps. 
a) Power cycle the dongle 
b) if you see “Found new Hardware Wizard” popup window again, Select Option 1 and Click 
Next. 
c) Select Option 2 “Install from a list or specific location” and click ‘Next’. 
d) Select the option of “Search for the best driver in these locations” and check “include this 
location in the search”. Please specify the location of driver installation folder 

Note: Try with another USB port, if any of the above given troubleshooting tips are not helpful. 

2. Check you device manager and you have Samsung network adapter detected.  

3. Uninstall your driver, and re‐install it. You SHOULD follow the instruction of Procedure to 
install drivers on Windows XP.

How to check version   
1. Samsung 4G Connection Manager and LTE FW version 
A. Launch Samsung 4G Connection Manager. On the top, you have “I” icon to check CM 
version and LTE FW version of UE. 

 
2. Driver version 
A. From device manager, select “Samsung USB LTE adapter”  
B. Right‐click and select Properties  
C. You can check driver version from Driver tab.
