The Organ!
On Wednesday we were able to
travel up to the balcony of the
church to see the organ! Mrs.
Achterberg showed us how she
plays with her feet and hands! She

In Chapel we had a special visitor from the Lutheran Heritage
Foundation, where our chapel offerings are going. He showed
us pictures of children in Sudan who are enjoying books about
Jesus!
Next week we will hear about Jesus and the little children and
Zacchaeus! Chapel is at 8:40 next Wednesday.

KINDERGARTEN NEWS

Language
This week we studied the vowel O! We thought of
many O words and practiced reading words with
the vowel O and figuring out if it has a long or
short O sound! Ask your child to read some words
to you and tell you if the vowel makes a long or
short sound!
We continue to practice our individual reading and
writing! Our snow pictures are all up - come see
our great sentences!
Next week we will study the letter R!
Word Wall – we will be starting our word family
word wall very soon! We will practice a couple of
word families each week and I will indicate these
in our newsletters and calendar. Please ask your
child to practice these rhyming words with you at
home!

Math
We enjoyed counting by 2’s, 5’, and 10’s and well past
90! We read and wrote number sentences and are
practicing telling time!
Next week we will practice measuring as well!
Ask your child to tell you about our calendar clipboard
that we use daily!

Rocks!
Next week and following we will be studying rocks and
fossils! Your child will come home with a bag next
week to put a couple of special rocks in for us to study
at school!
If you have some special rocks, fossils, books or
anything else that you would be willing to share with
us, please let me know! J
