Alice in wonderland

Quite a lot of the aspects in Alice and wonderland

are very surreal. I’ve notes down some points I
think make the film more effective.
. By creating more exaggerated faces such as the
queen’s massive head and some of the people’s
hairstyles, noses ECT make movie look more
unnatural.
By the director Tim Burton has used size as one of
the main factors to create a very surreal atmosphere
and emotion of unnatural.
. By also including talking animals such as the
rabbit in the movie and story makes the film seem
more unreal and more imaginary.
Overall I think Alice in wonderland is a very good
prime example of not only a surreal story but also
movie by using all sorts of tecniques to make the
story much more interesting and exciting. Tim
Burton who directed Alice in wonder land the
movie has also directed other films which have as
well created and very effective surreal story such as
Edward scissor hands.
I think to get a really good effect with surrealism it
is best achieved by use of colors making it strange
and interesting attracts the audience also so music
and animation I think are very important to make a
more unnatural story line and makes the mood the
director is trying to creative very effective. I think
the Mad Hatter is a very good example of the
bright colures and strange unnatural contacts makes
him look like a very surreal character.
Compared to the old Alice in wonder the new one
in my opinion is much more effective due to the
over exaggeration of color and animation but still
stills to the creative story line.
I really like the film because I think it’s different
from anything else i've seen because its so surreal
and I would quite happily watch it again out of
choice its going to be added to my favorites.
Tim Burton.
Timothy William Burton was
born August 25, 1958 in
Burbank, California.
Burbank may not ring as
many bells as Hollywood,
but it is the home to many
film and television studios
-- NBC, Warner Brothers,
Disney, and others. Burbank
was quintessential 1950s
American suburbia, a world
in which the shy, artistic
Tim was not quite in step
with the shiny happy people
surrounding him. He was
not particularly good in
school, and was not a
bookworm. Instead, he found his pleasure in painting, drawing, and movies.
He loved monster movies: Godzilla, the Hammer horror films from Great
Britain, the work of Ray Harry Hansen. One of his heroes was actor Vincent
Price.

Over the years Tim Burton has produced and help create many well-known
movies such as …

ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010)

SWEENEY TODD (2007)

CORPSE BRIDE (2005)

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY (2005)

BIG FISH (2003)

PLANET OF THE APES (2001)

SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999)

MARS ATTACKS! (1996)

ED WOOD (1994)

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (1993)

BATMAN RETURNS (1992)

EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990)

BATMAN (1989)

BEETLEJUICE (1988)

PEE-WEE's BIG ADVENTURE (1985)

All of these films share one thing in common. For all of them Tim Burton has
created and made very surreal aspects of each film which express the type of
work Tim Burton enjoys doing and making, I wouldn’t be able to choose one of
these film as an example because there all very effective as surreal movies and
that what I think makes His work so popular and interesting. Some of Tim
burtons film’s are my favorite films such as “Mars Attack” I like it because its so
unusual and I just cant imagine its happening in real life it take you away from
real life and that’s what I think makes a film very effective.
