I
recently read about Hindu culture and when a teacher
wants to place the emphasis on an important point, the
information is repeated three times. I imagine this is
done so the student will never forget that the message,
h o p e f u l l y, i s f o r e v e r i m b e d d e d i n t h e s t u d e n t ’ s m e m o r y.
With this intention, I’ll make this statement. “Prophecy is not
prediction. Prophecy is not prediction. Prophecy is not
p r e d i c t i o n . ” N o w t h a t w e h a v e t h a t o u t o f t h e w a y, y o u ’ r e
probably asking, “Why?” The fact of the matter is that our

W h e n e x a m i n i n g We s t e r n c u l t u r e f r o m a s p i r i t u a l p e r s p e c t i v e ,
one easily leaps to the apparent conclusion with the vast array
of cellular phones, luxury cars, gourmet frozen meals and
AT M s o n e v e r y s t r e e t c o r n e r, t h a t w e a r e, i n d e e d , a m a t e r i a l
s o c i e t y. Yo u c a n n o t d e n y t h a t t h e “ t o y s ” a n d “ s t u f f ” t h a t
embody and measure the success and comfort of one living in
this world can and does stop spiritual growth and evolution.
But, it is not our obsession with materiality that is blocking
t h e v i e w. I n s t e a d , i t i s o u r m i n d . I t i s t h e w a y t h a t w e s e e
t h i n g s . T h e M a s t e r s c a l l i t “ T h e Po i n t O f Pe r c e p t i o n . ”

The metaphor is as ancient as the story of the three blind men

hanging onto the elephant. Since each was in a different
position, the three experiences of the elephant by the blind men
were entirely different. So, when you are dealing with
something as dramatic and looming as Earth Changes
P r o p h e c y, y o u c a n b e t i t w i l l b e h u n g o n t o i n m a n y d i f f e r e n t
ways. My experiences with this have been very interesting.

When people first encounter an I AM America map, they either
love it or hate it. Those who love it feel hopeful and happy that
a new time is coming. Those who hate it simply don’t
believe it, and sometimes point out that the map is
g e o g r a p h i c a l l y i m p o s s i b l e . Q u i t e h o n e s t l y, I h a v e l e a r n e d o v e r
t i m e t h a t i t i s n o t a m a t t e r o f l o v i n g o r h a t i n g t h e m a p . O r,
w h a t i s p o s s i b l e o r i m p o s s i b l e. T h e m a p i s a p o w e r f u l m e t a p h o r


of spiritual teachings, which releases the purifying,
r e d e m p t i v e a n d t r a n s f o r m a t i v e r e s u l t s o f p r o p h e c y, a n d t h a t ,
while subtle, is extremely important.

So why even deal with prophecy? If you can’t take it and make with what we

When I was a little girl growing up in rural Idaho we would listen to the
radio every morning during breakfast. There was a program that came on
b e f o r e t h e n e w s c a l l e d , “ T h e Vo i c e o f P r o p h e c y. ” I t w a s v e r y e v a n g e l i c a l
a n d e v e n m y m o t h e r, w h o l o v e s C h r i s t i a n i t y a n d i s a d e v o t e d L u t h e r a n
would roll her eyes when the show’s song, which sounded much like a
Sousa March sung by a Mitch Miller barber shop trio began, “Ring out the
trumpet, and long live the King! Jesus is coming again. . .” None of us ever
believed it.

As a little girl in Sunday school, I liked the idea that someday heaven on
earth would come. But why did we have to fight the battle of Armageddon
t o a c h i e v e t h i s ? To d a y, t h r o u g h t h e h e l p a n d e x a m p l e o f o u r N a t i v e
American and Eastern brothers and sisters I can see that prophecy helps
us to a address the spiritual battle that is often waged only within
o u r s e l v e s , t h e b i r t h o f o u r c o n s c i e n c e a n d t h e r e d e m p t i v e p o w e r o f c h o i c e.
Prophecy is truly the balance that blends human fate with free will. Again,
t h e M a s t e r t e a c h e r s c a l l t h i s a “ Po i n t O f P e r c e p t i o n . ”

Prophecy is not prediction! One quick and easy way to tell the difference
between the two is that prophecy always gives a way out or a solution, of
what to do to avoid catastrophe. It’s like the option clause in the business
contract that allows you to reconsider a major purchase after 24 hours;
the door that miraculously opens in the eleventh hour; the inner voice that
tells you to turn left instead of right on your way home avoiding a traffic
accident. Its end result is not fated, instead, if the urgings and promptings
of prophecy are heeded, the results are transformation. So don’t get hung
up on dates, earthquakes, shifting plates and volcanic explosions- that’s
j u s t t h e d r a m a o f t h e s t o r y t o g e t y o u t o c h a n g e. T h i s i s s o t h a t y o u w o n ’ t
f o r g e t i t a n d i t i s i m b e d d e d i n y o u r m e m o r y. G e t t h e p o i n t ?
 Maybe in the greater dreams of the New Times, Eastern and
We s t e r n c u l t u r e s w i l l b l e n d a s o n e a n d t h e c h i l d o f t h i s u n i t y
 will bring just enough comfort to ease suffering and pain, yet
such material harmony will never divert our minds and hearts
f r o m t h e t r u e s p i r i t u a l w a y. A n d m a y b e, s o m e d a y i n t h e f u t u r e ,
Prophecy prophets will live and be respected in all communities as
listeners to the voice that can keep us out of harm’s way and

yourself? When was the last time you liked yourself? When was the last time
you accepted yourself and decided to take action to change the things you
knew needed attention? Consider that you are not being told you are wrong
or bad. Consider that you are being informed that the choices our ancestors
have made and the ones we are making now are disrupting the laws of nature.

Are you sure you want to proceed on this course? The idea that prophecy can
e x i s t i n t h e p r e s e n t t i m e s i s h a r d f o r m o s t p e o p l e t o a c c e p t . We h a v e a l l b e e n
exposed to some form of organized religion and we either embraced some
form of spiritual expression or we rejected some form of the idea. Most who
accept a higher power as a given in their lives find it difficult to accept there
could be a present day prophets that are warning people of the world. Let us
c o n s i d e r t h a t w e e v o l v e t e c h n o l o g i c a l l y, s o c i a l l y a n d p o l i t i c a l l y, w e a l s o
e v o l v e s p i r i t u a l l y. C a n a n y o n e d e n y t h a t t h e m y s t e r i e s o f c r e a t i o n n o w h a v e
a different light shed on them as we develop technologically? Could our
personal spiritual experiences also change in the wave of our own evolution?
Could the way we organize this spiritual experience into a religious practice
change with the passing of time?


I f w e c o n s i d e r h i s t o r y, p a s t c i v i l i z a t i o n s h a v e c h a n g e d a n d s o h a v e t h e
beliefs that shaped these cultures. The Sacred beliefs of today are the
s u p e r s t i t i o n s o f t o m o r r o w. We h a v e a l r e a d y f o u n d t h i s t o b e t r u e w i t h p a s t
civilizations. Why would we be any different? There are no exceptions for
a n y s o c i e t y, g o v e r n m e n t , b u s i n e s s , r e l i g i o u s s y s t e m , o r c l a s s o f p e o p l e . T h e
probability of these changes occurring is certain with the path our global
s o c i e t y i s t r a v e l i n g . We h a v e a c h o i c e o f e i t h e r c o m i n g t o g e t h e r t o
harmoniously resolve our differences and clean up the environment, or the
p l a n e t w i l l c h a n g e f o r u s . T h e o n l y c o n s t a n t i s c h a n g e.

It is most certain that cultures ignore their Prophets. Let us consider the
state of Israel. This culture is the best known for having Prophets and
p r o p h e c i e s . W h e r e i s t h i s c u l t u r e n o w ? We l l t h e r e i s n o l a s t i n g p e a c e w i t h
their neighbors. The country is in fact on international welfare from the
United States and many of their people are scattered over the world, while
o t h e r s o f t h e w o r l d h a v e a n t i S e m i t i c f e e l i n g s . We m a y a s k o u r s e l v e s d i d
t h e s e p e o p l e o f t h e p a s t e m b r a c e t h e p r o p h e c i e s ? L o o k h o w i t i s t o d a y.
