Colorant Chromatics
Head office location: Cham, Switzerland
Ownership: ColorMatrix, US
Profile: Colorant Chromatics was established in 1979 in Sweden, but 20 years later
the headquarters was relocated to Cham, Switzerland. In the early 1980s the
company opened two manufacturing plants in Finland and Connecticut, USA. In
2003, Colorant Chromatics moved into the Chinese market by setting up a plant
in Shanghai. In April 2007, the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of
the USA’s ColorMatrix Group.
Product line: Colorant Chromatics produces a full range of colour masterbatches, specialty
compounds, pigment dispersions and inks for the processors of fluoropolymers
and high-performance plastics. The polymers available include FEP, ETFE,
PFA, PVdF, ECTFE, MFA, THV, PEEK, and PES. In addition to standard colors and
compounds, the company offers special services such as color matching, pre-
colouring, and custom compounding. It also supplies a full range of pigment
dispersions for PTFE extrusion.
Product strengths: Colorant Chromatics’ product are designed to provide wide service
temperatures, low flammability, excellent electrical and mechanical properties,
very good resistance to chemicals and solvents, and high resistance to
weathering.
