PolyOne brushes away problems

PolyOne worked with a well-known manufacturer of private
label toothbrushes and dental care products for national chain
drug stores to help it overcome production problems it was
experiencing in its moulding operations. At the time it was using
antimicrobial additives that required high let-down ratios.
PolyOne successfully developed antimicrobial formulations that
performed well at lower loadings for both clear and opaque
toothbrushes. It also designed a universal carrier that works
across a variety of olefins, elastomers and other resins. The
lower let-down ratios represent a 30% cost saving, equivalent to
US$30,000. In addition, lead times have been reduced enabling
the customer to improve management of inventory levels.

the USA’s ColorMatrix Group.

Product line: Colorant Chromatics produces a full range of colour masterbatches, specialty
compounds, pigment dispersions and inks for the processors of fluoropolymers
and high-performance plastics. The polymers available include FEP, ETFE,
PFA, PVdF, ECTFE, MFA, THV, PEEK, and PES. In addition to standard colors and
compounds, the company offers special services such as color matching, pre-
