Rock chick ALEX STORM reveals all on where she has been for the last
GOOD!” 3 years since her first appearance in 2008…
We’ve interviewed lots of rock
stars here at but our
excitement at interviewing Alex
Storm, this year’s hottest solo
artist is out of control. As she
strikes a pose for our
photographer, she lights up the
studio with her brand new look.
The 22 year old singer has taken
an ‘essential’ two years off to
focus on writing her new album
‘Through the Storm’. Now she is
back, bigger and better than
ever! Alex has been hitting the
party circuit since her debut
appearance at Glastonbury in
2008. She claims that she wasn’t
ready to start up her music
career at 19 because she wasn’t
as experienced as other singers.
“I was too young to cope with
the pressure and competition”
she says. Her new look, album
and lifestyle has boosted her
self-confidence and now she is
‘more ready than ever’ to claim
her spot back into the music
industry…
It’s a pleasure to finally meet you
Alex… Thanks its great to be back and
I’m so ready for what’s ahead! I’ve
taken this time off to prepare myself
and start from fresh. I’ve learnt a lot
about myself over the past 2 years.
Who do you get your inspiration from?
I would say my biggest idol is P!NK.
She is amazing! I went to see her the
other night and I’ve never seen a show
like it. There a lot of great artists out at
the minute and they are so hard to
compete with. I’m also a massive fan
of Muse, 30 seconds to Mars, Jessie J
and Rihanna.
What can we expect from you in the
coming year? This year I am promoting
my new album and making an
appearance at Reading and V Festival. I
can’t wait!
What made you change your look?
After my first appearance in 2008 I
realised that I wasn’t ready to start my
music career that soon, I wanted to
change my look and fit in more with
the current music industry. I feel better
in myself and my new look has
generally boosted my confidence.
Who will you be interested in
collaborating with? I look up to a lot of
solo artists but I would love to work
with people like Ellie Goulding, Pixie
Lott, P!NK and Avril Lavigne.
What else have you been up to over
the last 2 years? These last two years
have prepared me for what’s ahead. I
have been writing my new album and
working my way around the Camden
circuit meeting people and getting
advice.
Have you got your eye on anyone? I
don’t have time for boys right now,
but if I’m honest, Matt Bellamy’s quite
hot.
What took you so long to write your
new album? I wanted each song on my
album to be personal and meaningful to
me. I spent a lot of time writing the songs
and reflecting on my past but also what I’m
looking forward to in the future.
Any tour dates scheduled to be
released? Yeah, my tour starts on
September 3rd and finishes on the 29th
November, I can’t wait its going to be
AMAZING!
Is your love for fashion as big as your
love for music? I have always loved
dressing up and it makes me feel so much
better about myself. Give me a pair of
military boots and a leather jacket and I’m
sorted!
Have you made any new celebrity
friends? I’ve been going to a lot of gigs
recently and met a lot of amazing
people. I’m looking forward to meeting
a lot more inspirational solo artists
when I go to V festival and Reading.
