1. What are the primary roles of media delivering news to the public? To get the news out to
the public. The primary roles of the media. Are to deliver correct information to the public.
Also inform the public about current news affairs and to tell about what’s going on in our
society in a lighting quick time. This way we know what’s going and what we can do about it.
Media plays a very important role in building our society. That’s why they are more
responsible for the betterment of the society. There are many different ways now days to get
the news out. We have the internet where there are many different site you can get on and
get the news from. We also have the radio and newspapers. Those are other ways you can
receive the news.

2. What is the significance of immediate news media delivery on culture?


The significance of immediate news media delivery on our American Culture is to foster and
reinforce a soicatial addition to instant gratification. Americans expect and demand that their
wants and desires be fulfilled. Immediate news is just another expression of this dynamic.
There are so many examples fast food, and the instant communication of cellphones. We are
all affected by this and we do not want to wait for anything. Also the significance is that
immediate news does not always have all the facts. The media attempt to portray news in an
immediate manner comes at the cost of superficiality and search for sensationalism.

3. What are the social responsibilities of news media? To not falsify information and always
give out correct information. Media has a lot of responsibility on its shoulders. As of today
society is very much influenced by the role of the media. We listen and believe in what the
media project to us and change our minds according to what the media says. We rely on the
media to update us on what’s going on in the world. Some of the other responsibilities are to
gives us all the news we want to know and what happened, how it started and what’s
happening to stop or change it Reports of the war explores the social responsibilities of the
journalist during times of military conflict and new media treatments of international crises.

4. What are important ethical and legal considerations in the online world? Plagiarism is
well known in University to be one of the ethical and legal issues when it comes to the online
world. Most information you read on the internet has come from someone else and just been
re-worded to make it seem like the person writing it came up with the information on their
own. Now that anyone can post information online, they can write and post anything they
want to say even throw it may not be true. Some of the information people write and post on
the internet are just their own opinions and not the truth.

5. Describe the importance of ethical and legal compliance in online interactions.


Possibly one of the most alluring promises of the Internet is its ability to create anonymity. On
discussion boards, blogs, and through various email addresses, a person can easily create

dozens of personas, each accessible to different people. But one of the most pervading moral
questions of online ethics regards the difference between protecting anonymity and deceiving
others.
The era of the Internet has introduced many new dimensions to the study and practice of
ethics. Online ethics refers to patterns of behavior used when on the Internet, guided both by
law and personal philosophy. The great capabilities of this communication medium allow for
the potential of great harm, cruelty, and even crime. Major concerns in the field of online
ethics include the protection of private information, the limits of a presumed freedom of
expression, and issues of libel. Understanding legal ramifications and trusting personal
philosophy used in other areas of life can help a person determine his or her online ethics.

6. What are the various information delivery methods to audiences?


There are many different ways you can delivery information to audiences, such as television, the
internet, radio, and the newspaper. Selection of which method to choose is dependent upon the
audience targeted. The internet will reach a broad audience particularly between the ages of 12
to 59. This age group makes up 80 percent of internet users, 30 to 39 years of age dedicates on
average 18 hours per week. Thirteen percent of young people receive their news via cell phones
and other digital devices. There majority of people receive their news form local television which
has remained steady over the recent years after a declined due to boom of online news delivery.

7. What are the main advantages and disadvantages of modern media delivery?

One main advantage of delivery media in today's world, is speed of information being sent.
Media can be sent around the world almost instantaneously via internet, social networking
sites, television or just as simple as a text message from a cell phone. This being said media
can be delivered too fast, take the Presidential election of 2004 for instance. John Kerry was
announced as the winner by news stations all over America, but Bush was later declared the
winner. The advantage of right now media delivery is also a disadvantage to the public by
being reported in some cases too fast and inaccurate.

8. Explain the effect of relationships among TV, movies, and electronic games and culture.
When communication is spread amongst a wide variety of people is known as mass media.
Mass media is also known as the main system of society. There are many different purpose,
such as providing information, entertaining, persuading and also by carrying a general
function of culture to millions of people. There must be an audience in order for mass media
to exist. Mass media is disbursed in variety forms such as; magazines, television,
newspapers, internet, motion pictures, and even plays. The major constraint of mass media is
competition. All forms of mass media want to be the one who targets the audience.

9. How is culture reflected in movies and television? By incorporating the real world within
film an taking pieces from daily life. You can imitate life on screen this includes popular
culture. Culture is reflected through our beliefs about some things. Movies and television
essentially reflect this by building their plots around certain beliefs. There are a lot of movies
documents of people lives. Also there many movies and television shows that reflect on
American culture. A television show or movie must address some of current societal problem
or trend in order to truly reflect American life; rap, murder and racism are something. On a
less serious note, parties, shopping, and sport are topics that deserve consideration by the
public and the media.

10. Describe the relationship between television and movies and culture. We tend to think of
movies and television as rivals media, but their histories are so deeply intertwined that
thinking of them separately is often to hindrance to understand how movie and television
industries operate or how people experience these media in their everyday live.
The relationships between television, movie and culture are directly related. Using Tyler Perry
for an example he basis of his work derives from the African American church culture.
Majority of his screen plays go on to become motion pictures and sitcoms. He also sends
hidden message out in his movies, plays and sitcom.

11. Explain the effect of electronic games on culture. Electronic games have a positive and
negative effect on culture. Some of the electronic games have a lot of violence in them such
as, shooting people, stealing cars, and sex and sad to say but that’s what sales and how the
gaming industry market there games to get people to buy their games. Now days children sit
and play games for hours. The games have become the babysitter. Also in some case
playing these games make children think its ok to do those things they see happening on the
games they are playing. All electronic games are not bad, on the positive side there are
games you can be active with and also play with your family such as the Wii and educational
games. We as parents need to take more responsibility on preview the games we buy for our
children and make sure they are age appropriate.

12. What are some of the most influential and important games released to the general public
within the last few years? Why are they important?

In 2006 Nintendo released its seventh generation of games named the Wii. The Wii has been
influential to many people around the world by bringing to life the ability of the user to interact
with the game. This interaction between game and user has led to the motivation of people
becoming more fit in America which is a necessities. America leads the world in obesity that
is why this is important because obesity leads to Diabetes, Hypertension, and other diseases
and higher health care premiums. With the invention of this game Americans now are able to
exercise while having fun and spending much needed quality time with family.

13. What are the most predominant controversial issues over modern electronic games?
Explain why. Sex and violence that’s portrayed in these video games. These types of video
games are develop for an immature audience but, we have parents that let their children play
these video games with them and also buy these video games with violence in them for their
children not thinking about the lasting affect it might have on their children. These violent
video games can have a bad affect on our children. For example, children that plays these
video games have more aggressive behavior and also thinks it ok to do what they have seen
in these violent games.

14. What are two major changes in media over the last century?
The two major changes in the media over the last century are the invention of television and the
internet. Before the 1900’s news was delivered via newspaper during these times it could take up
to a couple of days for news to reach around the country. With the invention of the telegraph
news could be sent by Morse code and received by newspapers quicker. After the turn of the

century television became the dominant source for delivering information to the public. Today the
use of satellites sends information to the public almost as soon as it happens. The internet
delivers data almost instantly with the click of a button, with 75 percent of the population using the
internet news stations broadcast and make information readily available.
