    I. OBJECTIVES

    CONTENT STANDARD

    The learner demonstrates understanding of how Anglo-American literature and


    other text types serve as means of enhancing the self; also how to use processing,
    assessing, summarizing information, word derivation and formation strategies,
    appropriate word order, punctuation marks and interjections to enable him/her to
    participate actively in a speech choir.

    PERFORMANCE STANDARD

    The learner actively participates in a speech choir through using effective verbal
    and non-verbal strategies based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice, Delivery,
    Facial Expressions, Body Movements/ Gestures and Audience Contact.

    - Pesentation of the Thomas Malory
    - Answering the vocabulary words using Aralinks
    - Discuss the Story of Death of Arthur

    VOCABULARY WORDS

    1. Swoon - faint
    2. Betwixt – between
    3. Grievously- seriously
    4. Scabbard- shealth for carrying the sword

    B. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT

    1. Who were with King Arthur when he fell into a swoon ? Where were they ?
    Where did they bring ?
    2. What happened to Sir Lucan? What did King Arthur ask Sir Bedivere to do ?
    3. How did King Arthur know that Sir Bidievere finally obeyed him ?
    4. What was king Arthur”s last request to Sir Bedivere ?

    C. ACTIVITY :

    Share a personal experience of disobedience and the consequences of your action.

    1. What details does Chaucer give to make us feel that spring is a


    wonderful season ?
    2. To what military rank today would a knight correspond? Point out the
    admirable qualities of the Knight ?
    3. To what season in the Philippines would the month of April in England
    correspond ? What would you enjoy at this time ?
    4. If you stay from the Philippines, What things would you miss most ?

    C. ACTIVITY :

    Guess the meaning of each idioms ( using aralinks )

    - Have your heart in your throat


    - In an evil hour – at a bad time
    - Keel over – collapse
    - Keep the wolf from the door – resist hunger and poverty
