In our O-levels course, we are primarily dealing with linear/translational motion. (unidirectional),
so speed and velocity might be used interchangeably.
So a car travels from rest to a speed of 10 m/s in 0.5 minutes. Then it moves another 20 meters
with the attained speed. Find the total time and the total distance covered in the journey.

Velocity increases
So basically, deceleration is just acceleration but opposite to the direction of motion/ opposite to the
direction of velocity.
Qs. A body is moving at a constant speed of 10 m/s for 20 seconds. It then starts to decelerate until it
reaches a speed of 5 m/s. the amount of distance covered in this duration is 5 metres. Find the
deceleration for the second part and the total distance and time.
