The Career Planning & Placement Center is offering two great summer internship programs for 2011:
Dream Dollars and The Scheyer Family Scholarship.

-')'22%,) is a unique ³scholarship´ program for undergraduates. The USC Dream

Dollars Program provides stipends for USC students who receive internships with a non-profit or
government organization. This program will support students hoping to gain work experience from an
unpaid internship. Students will be selected through an application and interview process. All internships
must be a minimum of six weeks during the summer. The program provides a stipend of $1,200 for each

award of $2,500to two students enrolled in approved summer internships. Preference will be given to
sophomores, juniors or seniors with demonstrated financial need. Student recipients must have a major in
the USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences and must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Students
must be in good academic standing and must have a graduation date between December 2011 and May

SEE College Prep is the largest non-profit organization in California offering SAT preparation and
college counseling services to low-income students, and will soon become the largest in the United
States. Our programs have helped more than 1,000 low-income high school students improve their
SAT scores and become the first in their families to go to college. We are searching for dynamic
college undergraduates who will join our team as Mentors, Lead Mentors, and Interns and spend the
summer in the Bay Area or Los Angeles. For 7 weeks, they work in the classroom providing direct
support to our high school seniors. Mentors guide 8 groups of 3 students through the SAT Reasoning
exam and the college admissions process, and build their confidence. Exceptional undergraduates can
apply to join our team as Lead Mentors, who are responsible for eight groups of students as well as
the performance of the other three mentors at their site. Interns play a critical role in the success of
our summer program and our plans to expand the program in future years. They work in SEE¶s
regional offices in South San Francisco and Los Angeles, collaborating directly with program staff on
high-impact projects in a variety fields including: Development, Human Resources, Information
Technology, Media, Programs, Public Relations, Research, and Strategy. Previous tutoring or SAT
prep experience is not required. Qualities of successful mentors and interns are strong communication
skills, strong organizational skills, enjoy meeting new people, ability to explain concepts and
processed in different ways to ensure student understanding. Summer staff will receive a stipend for
 their work: lead mentors $3000, mentors, $2300, and interns variable based on time commitment.
Mentors and Lead Mentors: Full-time commitment: about 40 hours of work per week. M-F for eight
weeks during the summer from late June to mid-August (actual dates vary by school site). Mentors
should have no other significant time commitments that would interfere with one week of training and
seven weeks of programming. Interns: 20-40 hours per week for 6-10 weeks during the summer (we
are most interested in full-time interns but are willing to consider those who can only make a part-

As one of the world's leading toy companies, Bandai is constantly searching for new ways to
conceptualize, develop, and market products. We are currently seeking applicants for open positions
in Product Development: game programmer and business producer. The game programmer position
involves programming video games for a variety of platforms, mainly using the C++ computer
language. The business producer position involves marketing, sales, coordination, and anything else
related to making a video game profitable. Any students/recent graduates who are interested in
working for either Bandai or NAMCO BANDAI Games must first participate in the summer
immersion program at the respective company. Undergraduate students who are in their third or four
year of college, graduate students who have no more than one year left of their graduate program, and

hands-on alongside professionals in our Editorial, Advertising and Corporate departments, and is
intended for academic credit only. The passionate and focused students selected will experience what

One of the best ways to learn the inner workings of government is through a State Assembly
internship program. Speaker John A. Pérez is looking for bright, self-motivated, energetic individuals
that are interested in learning the dynamics of working in a district office. Speaker John A. Pérez
represents the cities of Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Maywood and Vernon and parts of
unincorporated East Los Angeles. The Speaker¶s Office of Member Services (SOMS) is offering
unpaid internships for spring and summer semester 2010. As an intern you will provide support to
staff with special events, constituent services, and special projects related to general administrative
duties of the district office. The ideal candidate must be a junior or senior in an undergraduate
program, or enrolled in a graduate program by the start date of your internship. The ideal candidate
will be majoring in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Economics, English,
Communications, Public Relations, or other similar major. Qualified candidates should possess

combine substantive internships for 30-35 a week, courses for academic credit, career development
activities, site briefings and lectures led by prominent policy experts. These fast-paced, eight-week
residential programs provide students from around the world with opportunities to gain the edge in
today¶s competitive job market and graduate school admissions, and experience the excitement of
Washington first-hand. Each Institute offers classroom study, internships, and special events. The
summer Institutes have a combined enrollment of close to 400 and the semester enrollment is
approximately 50. Students in the summer are housed together at Georgetown University while the
Capital Semester students live in furnished residential buildings located on Capitol Hill. Sample past

The Mayor's Internship Program (MIP) is a ten-week unpaid internship beginning June 6, 2011 and
ending August 12, 2011. Mayor's Interns work on projects and tasks providing research,
administrative, and staff assistance to city managers. Interns are required to commit to 25 hours per
week and to be available to work the duration of the internship program. Applicants must be current
undergraduate or graduate-level students (recently graduated seniors may be considered). A
background in one or more of the following areas is desired: law, business/management,
communications, public policy, economics, finance, human resources, social services, or public
administration. Application consists of four sections including the application form, resume, essay,

The PEC Fellowship program is much more than an internship! The seven week program is designed
to provide college students and recent graduates with comprehensive exposure to PEC's work in the
Piedmont region and Virginia. Fellows will experience a hands-on approach to learning about PEC
through field-trips, classroom discussions, and individual practicum projects. Wherever possible,
classroom lessons are followed with practical applications and field trips. During the 2010 program,
students heard from 67 different speakers and went on 35 different fieldtrips to sites around Piedmont
to learn about the topics covered in the classroom through hands-on activities. PEC is pleased to
