Department of Electrical Engineering

Department of Electrical Engineering came into being with

the inception of HITEC University in 2007. Our mission is to
provide quality education at undergraduate and graduate levels
thereby producing talented and proficient engineers to cater for
needs in the country and abroad.

Electrical Engineering, one of the oldest fields of engineering,

deals with the study and application of electricity and
electromagnetism. Initially this field comprised the study of

MS Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electrical Engineering also offers a
Masters program. Three basic specialization fields are currently
being offered, namely; Signal Processing, Control Systems
Engineering and Communication Systems Engineering. The
curriculum for these three basic streams is separately designed.
First semester is common to all streams since it consists of a
comprehensive Mathematics course and two other core
courses. Master's degree is awarded after completion of 30
credit hours, 24 of these are course-work related. The
remaining 6 credits hours are optional; students can earn these
credits by either taking 2 additional courses or doing research
work. The research is completed upon submission of a thesis
and its defense before the faculty.
