Harvard Professor Myra White discusses SCMHRD in her regular

columns - 10/11/2010

Thought Leader and Harvard Business School Professor Myra White, in her article 'How culture impacts management
practices' wrote about the importance laid on the charitable work required to be done each semester by the students
of SCMHRD. She appreciated the norm at SCMHRD that requires the students to do 25 hours of charitable work each
semester. Initially it was required for the students to keep records of the time they spent on such activities but after
the first year it was discovered that this was not necessary. Students were eager to do this work.

SCMHRD has been granted the Eduniversal 3 Palmes Award that reflects its International Influence. This award is given
by Eduniversal, which is a politically and financially independent institution and the creator of the Official Selection of the 1,000 Best
Business Schools in the World.

Corporate Partners

In addition, in 2005, SCMHRD undertook a unique initiative "corporate electives", to expose students to

the practical side of industry. Organisations such as Infosys, Patni, MBT, Hewitt and others have

designed, taught and evaluated courses for us. Many more are in the offing.

"Creating change rather than coping with it" has been SCMHRD's mantra, and once again taking the lead,
SCMHRD has entered into collaboration with the much respected International Business School, the
Stuttgart Institute of Management and Technology (SIMT), Germany in July this year.

SIMT is a premier institution founded on the initiative of a number of renowned global players
headquartered in the Stuttgart area; the likes of Bosch, DaimlerChrysler, Hewlett-Packard, Siemens and
Trumpf.
In our incessant endeavour to enhance knowledge and serve the society with superior genius, we are
collaborating with SIMT to give the students an international platform to leverage SIMT's expertise on global
marketing tools and experience. We intend to narrow our focus to "International Management" and
"Infrastructure Planning", which would revolutionize and reset standards and expectations. The aim is to
develop future business managers with a direct focus on global industry; the type of managers we need.

As we say at SCMHRD, "We don't aim at developing talent, but at creating genius. After all, doing easily
what others find difficult is talent, but doing what is difficult for talent is genius"

Loaded with over 18000 books (which includes over 14000 odd titles), 300 odd periodicals and over 3000
academic CDs and DVDs, the library is a heaven for those who believe in the Newtonian Philosophy of
collecting pebbles facing the huge ocean of knowledge.

To ensure that the students are exposed to all the emerging trends in the world of business and also to the
ongoing studies in various parts of the world, SCMHRD library subscribes to 9 National Journals, 85
International Journals and one e-Journal. Apart from this, the library is also connected to 2 major
international management databases, namely, The Journal for Management Research and the EBSCO
database. SCMHRD library also enjoys the institutional membership of the British Library.

SCMHRD bags runners up at Mahindra War Room 2010. ndia’s largest annual B-school event
