According to market and economic information provider
IHS Global, the United States added nearly 1.2 million bar-
rels per day of crude oil production in the last five years. The

Canada
In late 2013, a Canadian-based manufacturer
of MPFM (Multiphase Flow Meter) solutions
for the oil and gas industry selected Rittal’s
wallmount enclosure for a major project. After
examining a sample Rittal wallmount enclo-
sure for the first time, the manufacturer opted
for Rittal’s option over a previously preferred
competitor. Features like a superior water seal,
a simpler, more protective hinge design and a
weather strip that does not peel off when tem-
peratures drop made Rittal the right choice.

Automation, Security and IT from a
Single Global Source—Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (AD-
NOC) has entrusted Honeywell with the task
of developing the Shah gas field in the Unit-
ed Arab Emirates. To expand gas production,
Honeywell needed a large number of enclo-
sures for automation, security and IT solutions.

Helping Keep Offshore Workers
Safe—Malaysia
One of Malaysia’s largest ever infrastructure
projects—the Sarawak Integrated Oil and Gas
Project—is currently under way in Kimanis on
the island of Borneo. A consortium headed by
Petronas is building pipelines and a terminal to
develop the oil and gas supplies off the coast
of the Sarawak and Sabah provinces. The
project also includes a 300 megawatt gas-fired
power station to supply the region with pow-
er. Rittal is providing enclosures for the pow-
er station’s fire alarm system and switchgear
through one of the consortium partners.

 SE 8 Freestanding Enclosure
Rittal understands that the components inside an
enclosure are absolutely mission critical whether
at an extraction site, a refinery, or anywhere along
the pipeline. That’s why the 304 stainless steel SE
8 employs one-piece construction, an enclosed
basic frame, and one-of-a-kind closure and gasket
technologies that work in conjunction to provide a
contaminant proof environmental seal. Since the
SE 8 has fewer areas for dirt and moisture to
collect, cleaning is easy which reduces the risk of
outside elements coming in contact with internal
components when the enclosure is opened.

As with the external design, no detail was spared

in the development of the sophisticated two-level
approach to internal mounting and cable entry
options, which makes it easy for engineers to get
the most out of every inch of the SE 8.

Staying true to The System, the SE 8 is fully com-

patible with the vast array of TS series modular
accessories. Selecting the SE 8 can reduce planning
costs by simplifying the specification of accessories
including climate control products across the full
