This assessment is to be done in a group

Assessment descriptions: Format for Project Assessment

I understand that many of you are the pathetic, useless, clueless kind of students who are not
capable of achieving the learning objectives of this course. The description of the project should be
sufficient, but by looking at you, I think many can’t get or understand how to do the project. As such
I have decided that you need to follow the format below.

Cover page

Your name, student ID and group must be on the cover page. If you don't know what group you are
in please refer to your class rep.

Picture – current, individual photo of sufficient size and quality. No picture will result in you getting
at most 60% or 18/30 of the marks.

Introduction

Describe your group. Tell me who are your group members. Tell me how much effort have you put in
observing the restaurant.

(Deduct marks if this part is not satisfactorily written)

Brief Description of the Restaurant

About half a page. Put pictures if you wish.

(Deduct marks if no description is made)


People - Workers and Boss(es)

The people working in the restaurant is a critical element of your observations, but for this project
assessment - you should be do only a brief description.

Who are the people working there? Describe each of them and their roles* to your best ability. You
also need to construct a psychological profile or psychological evaluation of each of the
worker/people in the organization. The main idea is to enable you to decide whether the person(s)
are suitable for their job(s) in the restaurant.

* The roles here refer to the roles in the organization. In the subject of Org Behavior, these would
be the job(s). You need to analyze what are the typical jobs in the restaurant. Typically these jobs
are (1) the bosses, (2) chef, (3) waiter or waitress and (4) kitchen helpers. There might be other jobs -
this depends on the restaurant that you are analyzing.

Describe the group dynamics in the restaurant

Group dynamics is a system of behaviors and psychological processes occurring within a social
group. This is part of social psychology. For you people – you have learn this in such a superficial way
when you were in Management in the stages of team development and communication learning
units. So just try to briefly say something sensible that reflect what you have learned about this
restaurant.

Identify The Org Behavior Theories/Concepts and Explain Why You Choose Such
Theories/Concepts to Help You Analyze Behavior in the Workplace

Identify, describe and more importantly give sufficient reasons why you think that theory or concept
that can be used to analyze behavior in workplace i.e. the restaurant. Must be at least 3 theories or
concepts. You can write as long as you want. This part should be the longest part of the assessment.
There is no word or page limit for this project assessment. The 'why' part needs to be the longest. If
you and your group members choose similar theories or concepts, you will not optimize your marks.

(20 marks - 3 marks to describe the org behavior theories/concepts and 17 marks to explain why)
Printout Version

I will be deciding on the grades based on the printout version, (The electronic submission is due to
the so called 'blended learning' requirement of UniKL. So please put your printed project assessment
in my office.

Other requirements:

Office 365 Groups and Microsoft Teams

Finally, you need to set up your Office 365 Group or Microsoft. You need to utilize this app in all of
your tasks and assignments. For example when in the context of this assignment – you might very
well put your notes on the roles of the workers so that other members of the group can read it and
then you should discuss amongst each other.
