Project Charter

Project Name: Wilmont’s Pharmacy Drone

Authorization Date: 25/09/2020

Project Description
Wilmont’s is a top-ranked US retail pharmacy who is secretly considering delivering prescriptions by
flying drone. Therefore, in order to execute this plan DroneTech, a small firm in San Francisco was
approached to design the prototype and create a system to easily deliver prescriptions and drugstore
items to customers using flying drones.

Project Purpose
The purpose of the project is for DroneTech tol provide the drone technology as well as the drone
piloting and delivery systems, by customizing its systems and business process to conform to Wilmont’s
requirements

Scope/boundaries
Wilmont’s will be modifying their online order entry process to allow customers in the San Francisco
area to register their willingness to have a drone deliver their orders by means of online entry or
smartphone entry.

Due to significant restrictions on the approval of customers for the service, systems will be developed to
allow Wilmont’s management to approve the customer, send a confirmation to the customer for the
service. Further, the system will establish a means of electronic communication via online email and
mobile alerts as customers request the service

Wilmont’s so that customers are not going directly to DroneTech’s normal customer websites or mobile
applications.    Interface communications about deliveries for Wilmont’s customers electronically
through email, online, and through mobile alerts as the customer requests. Hence, their will be a need
to interface with DronbeTech team for order entry, delivery confirmation and mobile application
followed by the securing of all the respective data by Wilmont’s security team.

Wilmont’s security systems has to be developed and updated to protect and safeguard the data that will
be stored within the company as information is exchanged with DroneTech. System modification will
collect required customers information who are approved in San Francisco area thus allowing them to
receive their prescriptions and drugstore items via the drone delivery.

Hence, all information stored in the system will be used to create reports for Wilmont’s management on
sales, customers review and key performance indicators which Senior Management can utilize to help
improve the quality and performance of the system.

DroneTech needs to modify several systems and interfaces for the drone flight operations in order to
customize things for Wilmont’s
