The  Athens  Training  &  Development  Center,  in  association  with  the  Institute  for
Innovation  and  Creativity  at  ACS  Athens,  offers  a  program  leading  to  the  CeMA
Certification  in  eMarketing.

About the courses

The CeMA (Certificate of eMarketing Association) courses in eMarketing are designed to give students and professionals the
opportunity to learn how to apply online marketing tactics as they enter a lucrative, high-demand, well-paid profession, or – for those
already in the field -- to enhance their position in the marketplace. The CeMA Certification Examination is administered following
the completion of the four courses listed below:

• Basic eMarketing
• Advanced Website/Blog/Mobile Marketing
• Advanced Search Marketing
• Advanced Social Marketing/Web 2.0

Course delivery
The courses will be conducted at the American Community Schools (ACS) of Athens in Halandri, in classroom ICCT 1 in the
Library. Each course will meet once a week from 6 pm to 9 pm for eight weeks. Students may take a maximum of two courses per
term. Courses will be scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays.

In addition to the physical meetings, students will interact via an online e-learning platform designed to facilitate easy interaction
among the students, as well as between the students and the course instructor.

Students’ knowledge will be assessed each week with a project-based assignment that will focus on the topic for that week.

Final Exam and Research Project

Students will design a practical research project in week one and will have the duration of the course to complete it. At the end of the
course, the students will be required to sit for a Final-Exam, which is a two-hour exam covering the entire content of the course.

Completion of all course assignments and projects is required for earning a certificate of successful completion at the end of each
course.

CeMA Certification Examination

Students who have successfully completed all four courses are eligible to sit for the CeMA Certification Examination in Summer
2011.

Individual Course(s) Participation

Based on their needs and prior knowledge and experience, students and professionals may take individual courses without
completing the entire program. A course participation certificate will be granted, but the student will not be eligible to sit for the
CeMA Certification Examination.

Instructor
Spiros A. Gianiotis
Upon coming to Greece from the USA, Mr. Gianniotis completed his high school education at ACS Athens and earned a Bachelors
in Chemistry from the University of Athens, while at the same time earning a Bachelors in Business Administration, Economics and
Accounting form the University of La Verne. He also holds an MBA. He has held senior marketing management positions in BP
Chemicals, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Warner Lambert. For the past 20 years he has been co-owner of Info Publications Ltd., a
leading company in publishing and Internet services. While pursuing a career in the business arena, he has taught for the past 30
years at various British and American Universities in Greece and is the founder of Athens Training and Development Center.
What is CeMA Certification?

CeMA is an e-marketing certification program accredited by the eMarketing Association (eMA). The program provides certifications
to individuals who demonstrate competency in the eMarketing arena after completion of the CeMA exam. The CeMA certification is
a substantial credential for individuals as well as professionals. The CeMA certification can be of benefit in employment
applications, resumes, bios, and college admission applications. The certification is recognized globally and is the only e-marketing
certification recognized by a state office of education.

A recent study by the eMA indicates that 70% of all marketing positions are requiring e-marketing competency. There is a gap
internationally, between current academic curriculum and employer demand for e-marketing skills. Educational organizations have
recognized this gap and are offering solid programs in e-commerce. The eMA strongly supports these programs and offers an
enhancement in the form of a certification. This program helps prepare the future marketers for the challenges of tomorrow’s
business environment.

The CeMA certification provides a mechanism for individuals and professionals to demonstrate competencies. It provides employers
with a tool to use when hiring and screening job candidates. It provides college and university admission boards with insight into a
students initiative, competency and commitment. It gives scholarship committees valuable information about a student's motivation.
