THE DESIGN PROCESS
A creative and goal driven journey awaits you! Here’s an overview of the design process for our custom
textile design services. Please note, the turnaround times include the maximum artwork revision requests
included in each package and a maximum of 2 days for you to provide feedback. This is a guide only
depending on the package you select. Some projects may move slightly quicker or slower than others.

TURN AROUND TIME: Hero & Mid-Scale Prints: 2 - 3 weeks | Simple Prints: 5 - 10 days

1. INITIAL BRIEFING
First things first- we want to get to know everything about your brand and your design brief! We’ll ask you to
provide us with reference images and inspiration for your project. We’ll then have a design consultation call to
chat about how we can work together to achieve your vision! From there we’ll put together a custom quote and
design brief. Once you’re happy to go ahead, we’ll require you to pay a 50% deposit to secure your project spot
with us.

2. RESEARCH & ART DIRECTION

At this stage we’ll research further reference imagery or trends related to your design vision. We’ll clarify
the art direction and aesthetic that will be implemented into original artwork. This may take form as a mood
board or Pinterest board if appropriate. You’ll be able to give feedback and sign off on the art direction
before commencing to artwork development.

3. CREATE ILLUSTRATIONS AND CONCEPTS

Now for the exciting part! We’ll create original hand drawn and/or digital illustrations and motifs based
on your approved art direction. We’ll present these to you as we go to ensure we’re heading in the right
direction.You’ll provide us with feedback on the elements and motifs presented. We offer two rounds of
revisions at concept stage. 

4. DEVELOP REPEAT OR PLACEMENT PRINT LAYOUT

Once you’ve approved the motifs, we’ll go head and put them into a repeat or placement print layout
considering size and scale at this stage. We may use product mock ups to present scale to you or ask you to print
out the design at 100% to make sure you’re happy with how the size is going to print out. We offer two rounds of
revisions at layout stage. 

5. FINAL ARTWORK SET UP & DELIVERY

Once the layout and scale of your design is approved, we will go ahead and set up your artwork for print.
We may pick Pantone colours or create colour separations if required. We will also require you to make the
final payment before sending out your print ready artwork via dropbox.

Think of it as a Hero Print’s slightly quieter best friend.
It may hone in on delicate elements and utilise negative space.

PUTTING IT IN REPEAT
We can take existing motifs you may have, and recreate them into a
repeating pattern with your specifications

FILES FOR PRODUCTION

This involves preparing a print or pattern you may have for production,
screen printing or digital printing. We consider scale, sizing, colour s
eparations, Pantone colours ect.

COLOUR ALTERATIONS AND SEPARATIONS

If you have an existing print, we can create alternative colourways for you
and match these to Pantone TPX colours. We can also prepare colour
separations in Photoshop, ready for screen printing.
