Type of research

Basically there are two types of research i.e. Basic and Applied. The type of research
followed in this research paper is applied. As the purpose / problem of the research is to
identify whether the age and education level have impact on the level of Emotional
Intelligence that leads to better organizational performance of the employees.

Identification of Variables

Emotional Intelligence (EI) played the role of dependent variable whereas gender, age, education level
and marital status played the role of independent variables.

Relationship among veriable.

The relationship among the variable exist in the hypothesis used in the research.
Hypothesis Development

H1 Does Age has significant effect on the level of Emotional Intelligence that leads to
better organizational performance of the employees.
H2: Does Education level of employees have a positive effect on the level of Emotional
Intelligence that leads to better organizational performance of the employees.

Sources of Data

Data can be obtained by primary or secondary sources. The data collected in this research
is from the primary as well as secondary sources. Primary data is collected by using
questionnaires and secondary data is collected from the official website of Askari Bank.


Sample consists of 100 employees working in different branches of askari Bank in

Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Adopted questionnaire is employed to gather data from the
employees. Out of 100 managers 92 responded to the questionnaire, among which 62
were male respondents and 30 were female respondents, which comprises 67.4% and
32.6% respectively of the total responses achieved, whereas the unmarried employees
were 51 and the number of married employees constituted 41 that is 55.4% and 44%
respectively. Simple random sampling method was used to collect the responses.

Data collection
The data collected for the current study was by means of the well defined adopted
questionnaire of emotional intelligence developed by NUML Students from internet. The
questionnaire was having 25 items related to emotional intelligence, rated at five point
Likert type scale, having 1 - Underdeveloped 2- needs improvement 3 - adequate 4 -
good 5- excellent nor disagree, and the gender, marital status, age and education level of
employees were added as an independent variable to carry out study. The higher score
represented higher emotional intelligence. The data was collected by the help of the
adopted questionnaire as mentioned earlier. Moreover many questionnaires were
distributed personally and collected the responses. Different types of tests were used to
analyze the data. Regression analysis was used to check the relationship of the dependent
and independent variables.

Instrument description used for data collection.

The instrument used in the research for collecting data is basically the questionnaire,
consisting 25 items.
