Cave is the image of ignorance by which it is only shadows they see and not really the
real things. The reality can often be disappointing. We always tend to believe that what we see
in front of us is just how the universe works. We are unaware of the ‘real deal’ because we are
unaware of the possibilities around us, because subconsciously, we refuse to turn our heads
around, in the fear of being told otherwise. In the fear of seeing things that might make us
question our beliefs and perception, things we practiced that made us who we believe we are
today. There is a certain force that pushes us to see things as they are, or more likely, how
they want us to believe it is. Most of the time, we are told what to believe in, how to live our life,
and we should see things and situations.
One prisoner was freed from the cave. When he returned, no one believed him and his
companions wanted to kill him. The acceptance of the bigger picture accounts a great amount
of courage, but it is something that is worth it. It may not be something we expect it to be but it
could be so much more. It’s all just a matter of perception. That ‘material’ world as portrayed
by the shadows is not the real world, but rather, a copy, an imitation of the real world. What we
perceive as truth, what we are told to believe is just a fraction of what is actually real. It’s
something they are missing out on. Not having the privilege to see experience the world as it
is, is their loss. Being presented of the opposing idea of the things we believed in our whole
lives, is a hard pill to swallow. I’ve heard that what comes easy doesn’t last and what lasts,
doesn’t come easy. We may not understand but the truth is something we shouldn’t be
deprived of. It hurts, yes but would someone rather live in a life of deceit for ease?
Knowing what truly “is” provides us power over things that we aren’t capable of fighting
for when we are bound and told what to do. This is our way to the greater worlds and
realizations we have been deprived of our whole life. The truth is a weapon, and it could be a
handful, but will always be the way to triumph against the ignorance and incarceration. To
“know” is the light, our guide towards the pathway to uncovering the secrets of this universe. It
may sometimes be blinding but it will always be of help towards the proper perception of the
world and the truth.
