Driggers Days Volume Two - Issue Two

February 2010

Greetings!
One of the Mofu translators who spent nearly 30 years working on the New Testament in Africa compared Bible
translation to a hunter killing an elephant. The elephant is too heavy for the hunter to handle alone and so the
community helps to bring it home. The end result is that everyone benefits! We are like that hunter in that we need
a community - a team of partners - to enable us in our ministry with Wycliffe.
There are over 2000 languages in the world that have not ONE written Scripture in a language that speaks to their
heart. Those language groups represent over 340 million people. The need is so great. Our passion and our calling
are paired with that of Wycliffe Bible Translators. Marty will help keep vehicles safe for translation teams and
other support staff. In this way our family will be a part of the very large effort to share Jesus and the Scriptures
with the people of Papua New Guinea.

Praise the Lord for His provision! We have completed our Wycliffe Orientation and are ready to start seeking a
team of individuals and churches who are passionate about Bible translation. May we ask you to be a part of our
team by praying, encouraging, or giving financially? Prayer is essential to God's work around the world. You
would help us so much by praying for our family on a regular basis.
Wycliffe is a faith mission which means that all its members rely on God to supply their needs. We will only be
able to serve in Papua New Guinea when we have 100% of the budget Wycliffe has set for us. We are also in need
of people like you to come beside us and encourage us in our work. Fulfilling the Great Commission is a big task
and God invites each of us to be involved.

Meet, Greet, and Feast with the Driggers
We are so excited about where God is taking us within the next year! Papua New Guinea here we come! In order to
stay intentional with our friendships we are planning a special event. We want EVERYONE we know and love (that
means you!) to set the night aside to come together and hear about what the Lord is doing in our lives. We ask that
everyone bring: a little something to sink your teeth into (good southern potluck style!); an open mind and heart to
absorb what we have to tell you about Bible translation; ears to hear fantastic gospel music by the Heritage Quartet;
and a great big smile for a photo of you with our family for our memory book and blog.

Here are the event details:

March 19, 2010
6:00 to 9:00
York First Wesleyan Church family life center
1830 York Highway
York, SC 29745

So y'all set the night aside on your calendars.

We can't wait to have everyone in one place at the same time to make
memories together!

Praise and Prayer

We praise the sweet name of Jesus for:

 His mercy in the timing of our sweet dog Harley's passing

 His faithfulness throughout our training in Orlando
 His graciousness during our orientation in forming new friendships with folks that will be in Papua New
Guinea too
 His provision of a new real estate agent for the sale of our home

We ask that you lift these concerns before the Lord:

 Effective communication during speaking engagements

 Quick sale of our home
 Provision for our dog Tinkerbell's future
 Transition for each of the girls

Thank you!
Thank you for your friendships and support through this first step into our future serving the people of Papua New
Guinea. You are vital to our ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators!
Until the whole world hears, Marty, Sara, Taylor, Tia, Miriam, and Jade Driggers
